Agent 47 is the titular main protagonist of the Hitman series.
He is a genetically modified assassin created by Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer for the sake of creating clones to make into perfect assassins. He travels around the world killing his targets without leaving a trace of his involvement, while also managing to keep his identity a secret with only a very few amount of people knowing who he is outside of aliases.
In the video games, he was voiced by David Bateson. In the films, he was portrayed by Timothy Olyphant in the 2007 film adaptation, and Rupert Friend in the 2015 film adaptation.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He is a very skilled and efficient assassin, achieving a 99% success rate on all his missions with the only reason he doesn't have 100% is because he willingly chose to spare Diana's life.
- He consistently manages to come up with clever ways to assassinate his targets and stages them all as either accidents or unsolved murder cases. He has also managed to keep his identity hidden for the whole 22 years he has been an assassin for, with only a very few amount of people (most being his allies) knowing his real identity.
- He is quite charismatic, being able to get on the good side of a lot of his targets and act as a convincing ally to them while in disguise or talking to them over phones or radios. David Bateson also gives him an excellent performance that sells him as a cold blooded and efficient killer with occasional emotion showing.
- He has some standards against collateral damage, terrorism and betrayal, being visibly angered at Edward Wade for massacring a whole orphanage full of innocents for fun and Soders betraying the whole ICA in order to save his own life.
- He also has standards against pedophilia and child rape, going as far as to stop a pedophile sex trafficking ring lead by Al-Fulani and allowing the kids to get their revenge on him by giving them knives and allowing them to murder Fulani.
- When he and Subject 6 (who would later be known as Lucas Grey) where ambushed by soldiers from the lab they had escaped from, 47 told him to leave him and try to escape, with 47 then allowing himself to be captured, but not before Lucas and him promised each other they would stop Providence in the future.
- While on an assignment to assassinate Lee Hong, in order to make him more vulnerable, he successfully turned the red dragon and the blue dragon tribes against each other by killing the red dragon negotiator, taking his coin, killing the chief of police and the blue dragon negotiator, and then leaving the coin next to their dead bodies as a mark in order to provoke the blue dragons into a war, which works perfectly and he then successfully assassinates Hong inside his hideout.
- When he has to assassinate Alvaro D' Alvade and Richard Delahunt, he comes up with creative methods to assassinate Alvaro, which are:
- Swapping the prop gun Mauser pistol used for the play with a real gun, tricking the actor into killing Alvaro for him.
- During the climax of the opera music, he times it with a sniper bullet, masking the sound of the gunshot and successfully killing Alvaro.
- Or, he can knock out the executioner, take his disguise and then shoot Alvaro with the real Mauser pistol himself, with no one suspecting him regardless.
- Despite being outnumbered by Albert Fournier and his police officers, 47 successfully evades arrest, kills Fournier to preserve his identity and makes a clean getaway.
- During his assassination mission of Vinnie Sinistra, 47 can lure him towards a window with a phone call, allowing him to kill Sinistra with a headshot from across the neighbourhood.
- He can lure Mohammad Bin Faisal Al-Khalifa away from his guards and into a secluded area with a phone call, where 47 then assassinates him with a sniper rifle after stealing a key card to a hotel room that overlooked the area.
- After Maynard John challenges him to a duel, 47 manages to defeat him in a gunfight, despite John supposedly being "the worlds best or second best assassin"
- He also finds out that an assassin has been hired to kill him named Eva, so he pretends to be tricked by her when she tries to lure him into a secluded area, only for 47 to then kill her in either a gunfight or garrotting her.
- He successfully infiltrates the white house and assassinates both the vice president and Mark Parchezzi lll, who was the Franchises best assassin and almost at 47's skill.
- Despite being outnumbered considerably at the end of Hitman: Blood Money, where he gets into a gunfight with over 10 men, he still manages to kill them all regardless and successfully kills off Alexander Leland Cayne, who wanted to use him for his own benefit.
- After injuring Diana critically, he decides to spare her life and as a way to make up for his action, he accepts Diana's wish to protect a genetically modified 14 year old named Victoria, who Benjamin Travis wanted for experiments.
- After Dexter frames him for murder, he successfully evades the entire Chicago P.D, hops on a train to escape, kills Dom Osmond at his vixen club with little effort and then proceeds to kill Wade's men in order to save Birdies life.
- Successfully kills off Lenny Dexter's gang in order to kidnap him, with 47 then successfully getting the information he needs out of him by forcing him to dig a hole until his arms start aching. While this could be seen as a cruel act, 47 does allow him to stop once Lenny caves and gives him the information he needs.
- Infiltrates Dexter's factory and kills his head researchers with ease and creativity, while also destroying all of their research they had gained on Victoria so that no one could copy it. His methods involved:
- Tricking Dr. Green into blowing himself up by inserting a detonator onto an unfinished mine he was working on.
- Waiting until Dr. Green is in a minefield with disabled mines and then detonating them all to stage the death as an accident.
- Spiking Dr. Valentines balding cure with fire paste, causing Raymond to light his own head on fire and fall over a railing to his death.
- Killing Dr. Ashford by waiting until he sits in the chair next to the sample robot, where he then kills him by locking him into it and impaling him with the robot.
- After The Saints are sent to kill him by Travis, 47 successfully kills all of them one by one with no one noticing, despite them bringing a small militia with them to try and kill him too.
- When on a mission to assassinate Viktor Novikov and Dalia Margolis, he can assassinate them in these ways:
- He lures Dalia and Viktor outside of the palace with the firework show Novikov had set up and then he pushes Dalia on top of Novikov in order to kill them both at the same time.
- He initiates a target lockdown in order to get Novikov and Margolis in the same room alone, where he then assassinates the two of them with ease.
- He can kill Novikov by taking advantage of the faulty light rigging and dropping it on him to stage it as an accident.
- He can disguise himself as Helmut Krueger in order to meet with Margolis privately, where he can kill her by poisoning her drink.
- Goes to Sapienza, where he can kill Silvio Caruso and Francesca De Santis in these ways:
- He can knock out or kill Silvio's therapist, Dr. Oscar Lafayette and take his place to attend Silvio's therapy session, where he can either kill Silvio with a pillow or just shoot him with a gun.
- He can force Silvio to escape by a plane, where he then kills him by shooting him out of the sky with an antique cannon.
- He can lure Silvio into the projection room by playing his old VHS tape, while disguising himself as a plague doctor on a costume stand, with him then slitting Silvio's throat after he asks the guards to give him a moment.
- He can kill Silvio by swapping his real golf balls with an explosive one, framing it as an accident.
- He can kill Silvio by tricking him into looking through his telescope, where he then snipes Silvio through it.
- He can kill Francesca by knocking out her love interest, Roberto and using his phone to lure her into a secluded area while posing as Roberto, where he can then kill her by poisoning the champagne Roberto brought.
- During a mission to assassinate Claus Hugo Strandberg and Reza Zaydan, he can kill them in these ways:
- He can knock out the prisoner that Zaydan is interrogating, dismiss the guard that is supposed to watch the prisoner and then, he snaps Zaydan's neck after posing as the prisoner and hides his body in a cabinet.
- He can release gas from a container in Zaydan's room and turn off his oil lamp, which causes Zaydan to blow himself up once he turns the oil lamp back on.
- He can lure Zaydan into a room by turning on a intercom so that he hears two of his men disrespecting him, where 47 then kills him by pushing a toilet onto his head from the restroom above.
- He can kill Strandberg by knocking out or killing his masseuse, disguising himself as his masseuse and snapping his neck during his session.
- He can lure both Strandberg and Zaydan into a secluded area by using their code words to head to a safe area "honeycomb" and "cherry blossom", where he then burns them alive with a oil barrel.
- On a mission to kill Jordan Cross and Ken Morgan, he can use these methods to kill them:
- Upon finding out that Morgan is intentionally avoiding Cross, he can trick them into meeting each other, where Cross eventually ends up killing Morgan by pushing him over a railing due to Morgan's abuse, with 47 then subsequently pushing Cross over the railing instead.
- He finds the dangerous microphone that Cross wants for his recording session and rigs it so that the microphone will definitely electrocute Cross to death during his recording session, staging it as an accident.
- He can lure Cross into a secluded area by playing the incriminating recording that he wants hidden away, finishing Cross off with a headshot after revealing that he has been hired to kill him.
- He can trick Cross and Morgan into coming into the main hall, where he can then knock everyone out with some gas, allowing him to snap Cross and Morgan's necks before everyone else wakes up.
- When he goes to kill Sean Rose, Penelope Graves, Ezra Berg and Maya Parvati, he can kill them in these ways:
- He can trigger Sean's OCD by messing with his obsession with perfection and then he drugs Sean's cigarettes with a hallucinogenic drug, causing Sean to become paranoid about not being clean and heads to a basin to wash himself off, which 47 then drowns him in.
- When Sean takes off his watch to wash his hands, 47 implants the explosive watch battery that Sean had his hacker create and explodes him once Sean puts his watch back on.
- He can use the fake I.D. that the militia created to spook Graves in order to get her bodyguards away and then, he kills her by throwing her into a slurry pit.
- When he needs to get into Sean's bunker that has a lock that can only be opened with his face, 47 prints out a 3D mask of his face to scan, which works.
- After learning that Eric Soders betrayed the ICA and that Yuki Yamazaki is trying to keep him alive, he can then assassinate them with these methods:
- He can go into the organ cooling area, where he can kill Soders by ripping the heart out of its capsule that is pumping blood to him.
- He can disable Soders's defibrillator for a short amount of time and overcharge it so that it will kill him the next time it is used.
- He can poison Soders's blood cells by mixing them with botulinum toxin.
- He can cause the AI operating on Soders to malfunction, killing him by stabbing him to death.
- He can kill Soders just by revealing himself to him, causing Soders to die of a heart attack just from the sight of 47.
- He can reveal that Soders had assassinated the head doctor, Dr. Laurent's father to him and trick him into consuming pills to relieve his stress, causing Laurent to lose his temper and kill Soders by sucking his blood out with a mechanical needle.
- He can kill Yuki Yamazaki by taking advantage of her reckless lifestyle and consuming fugu fish, a very poisonous food without cooking it properly.
- He can kill Yamazaki by trapping her in a overheating sauna, causing her to dehydrate to death.
- He can kill Yamazaki by knocking out or killing her yoga instructor and turning off the hot water near the yoga area to get rid of all potential witnesses. He then baits her to the edge of the cliff with yoga moves and kicks her off once she reaches it.
- He can kill Yamazaki by triggering a target lockdown, where she tries to escape by cable car, but 47 just shoots the cable car down as she tries to escape in it, causing her to fall to her death.
- On a mission to search for intel on the "Shadow Client" he breaks into a house to search as well as to assassinate Alma Reynard, where he can kill her in these ways
- He can kill Reynard by poisoning the entire house,
- He can poison Reynard with her tea,
- He can kill Reynard by smothering her with a pillow,
- He can even kill Reynard by scaring her where she runs into the ocean and drowns herself (unknown if the this kill is intentional or not)
- Goes on a mission to kill Providence Defectors Sierra Knox & Robert Knox, and he can kill the duo with these methods
- He can kill Sierra by sabotaging her car, for example attaching a car bomb where 47 or Robert Knox can blow it up if he give's him the trigger, sabotaging her tires where she crashes, use an explosive fuel to her car,
- He can kill Sierra after the race by poisoning an IV drip system or the trophy,
- He can kill Sierra by sabotaging the pyrotechnics where it blows her up,
- He can kill Sierra by setting her on fire while playing a drinking game
- He can kill Sierra push her into an elevator shaft
- He can kill Robert by dropping a shark statue on him,
- He can poison Robert Knox with his eyedrops or with food from Florida Man's food stand,
- He can make an android kill Knox by showing the bot a photo of him then the robot shoots Knox.
- He can blow Knox up with his demo vehicle
- He can kill both by pushing Robert onto the track where Sierra will run him over as well as crash herself
- After the Knox's deaths he goes on a mission to kill more of the "Shadow Client's lieutenants beginning with Rico Delgado, Jorge Franco & Andrea Martinez where can eliminate the trio in these ways.
- He can kill Delgado by feeding him to his hippo (after punching him in the side) where he is eaten alive by it,
- He can stab Delgado in the head with a tattoo gun
- He can run Delgado over with a submarine,
- He can kill Franco by pushing him off a cliff as he tries to collect rare flowers,
- He can push Franco into a cocaine making machine
- He can poison Franco with a cocaine bus souvenir
- He can kill Martinez by using a cement mixer to push her into a it where she is then buried with cement,
- He can blow Martinez up with an explosive package,
- He can push Martinez off her balcony into a river where she is then eaten by piranhas,
- He can kill Delgado or/& Martinez by pushing a statue of Delgado on them both.
- Goes to Kill the Elusive Wazir "Maelstrom" Kale, Vanya Shah & Dawood Rangan, he can kill them with these methods
- He can kill Kale by dropping a neon sign on him
- He slice Kale's throat open after shaving him
- He can kill Shah by sabotaging her private pool to make it explode
- He can Garrote Shah while taking measurements disguised as a tailor,
- He can push Shah into a pit while disguised as the foreman where she will drown.
- He can kill Rangan by sabotaging the Fan while filming so he gets pushed off the set,
- He can kill Shah & Kale by sidetracking a train to go through a rail yard.
- He can kill Rangan & Kale by dropping a concrete pole on them both
- He can kill Rangan & Shah by pushing a boat on them both
- He can get another assassin the Kashmerian to kill Rangan & Shah
- After finding out the Shadow Client is his long lost friend Lucas Grey/Subject 6 and what 47's employers really are, he and Diana betray Providence and they make it their next mission to destroy the criminal organisation providence for good, beginning with killing Janus & Nolan Cassidy as well as gather intel on Providence.
- He can kill Janus by poisoning his muffin or tea,
- He can smother Janus with a pillow,
- He can impale Janus on a hammer & sickle sculpture which is some cruel irony
- He can blow Janus up by making him smoke near an explosive tank or with a mole hole
- He can kill Cassidy by blowing him up in a security tunnel,
- He can sedate or poison Cassidy's whole house with him inside,
- With Janus dead and a funeral in a month away, 47 goes on another mission to kill Noel Crest & Sinhi "Akka" Venthan as well as deny access to the surveillance satellite.
- He can kill Crest by setting off a trap door and drowning him,
- He can set Crest alight by turning on the boat generator near oil on the ground, or making him drop a cigar on oil which makes him catch fire.
- He can kill Akka by making her smoke near a live gas barrel making her explode,
- He can electrocute Akka inside the jail cell.
- He can trick Akka into killing Crest by pushing him off a ledge.
- He can kill both by shooting them with a cannon, blowing them up.
- After the Constant's/47's previous employer's location has been discovered he Goes o kill Zoe Washington & Sophia Washington as well as to kidnap the Constant Arthur Edwards.
- He can kill Zoe by trapping her inside an effigy and then setting it alight,
- He can blow Zoe up with a cannon,
- He can also kill Zoe by disguising as a dead Janus and then stabbing her while she says her final words
- He can kill Sophia by pushing her inside an Iron Maiden,
- He can strangling Sophia with a necklace that she stole
- He can push Sophia off a cliff were she falls to her death
- After the Washington Twins are dead, he coerces the Constant into following him and then kidnaps him
- After finding out the Providence heads identities 47 starts to find their location only to find out they faked their deaths, so they go to a bank to track their accounts as well as to kill Athena Savalas and obtain data
- He can kill Savalas by pushing her through the clock window
- He can impale Savalas's head on her award
- Infiltrates a hotel Island to kill Tyson Williams, Steven Bradley & Ljudmila Vetrova in order to get the Providence Partner's location
- He can kill Williams by dropping a chandelier on him,
- While disguised as a doctor He can strangle Williams with a stethoscope or poison his medicine
- He can kill Bradley by strangling him with a bench press
- He can blow up Bradley's set ski with him on it.
- He can kill Vetrova through a trap door,
- He can poison Vetrova with her food,
- He can snap Vetrova's neck during a massage
- He can simultaneously drown Bradley & Vetrova
- He can gas the underground facility which kills all the targets
- After finding out the Partner's locations he makes it his mission to begin with the first two partners by killing Carl Ingram & Marcus Stuyvesant
- He can kill Ingram by impaling his head on an oil rig statue,
- He can blowing Ingram up with an explosive golf ball
- He can sabotage a railing where Ingram can fall off
- He can kill Stuyvesant by crushing him with a statue while meeting with his daughter,
- He can push Stuyvesant off the tower after a display 47's skills,
- He can electrocute Stuyvesant in the art installation
- He can kill both by triggering a lockdown and then sabotaging the parachutes where the two jump off and their parachutes break allowing them to fall to their deaths,
- He can also crush a chandelier on the duo while in a virtual meeting with Lucas Grey
- Goes on a mission to kill the final partner alive Alexa Carlisle and collect a file on Arthur Edwards
- He can kill Carlisle by pushing her into her grave and then burying her,
- He can smother Carlisle with a pillow in her private room,
- He can electrocute Carlisle during a photo shoot
- He can coerce her into killing herself when 47 tells her that her brother committed suicide.
- After finding out that he is hunted by the ICA as they sent a squad to kill him so he kills 5 or more agents of the 11 (10 depending on starting location) to send a message
- He can kill Agent Montgomery & Banner by electrocuting them when blowing up a light rig after a beat drop climax.
- He can kill Agent Lowenthal by poisoning his food
- He can kill Agent Thames by crushing him with a concrete pillar
- He can trigger a meeting with Montgomery, Banner, Thames, Davenport & Chamberlin and then kill them all
- when the ICA hit is over, 47 and Lucas's old Partner Olivia go on a mission to destroy the ICA itself, first by killing Hush and Imogen Royce and then access the data core in an ICA Facility
- He can kill Hush by overloading his brain
- He can poison Hush in his deprivation chamber
- He can kill Royce by pushing her in the core's coolant which will drown her,
- He can set Royce alight during a core cleansing either by 47 or Sharon Reed's hands
- He can poison Royce in a room with poisonous air.
- He can kill both with an explosion in a meeting
- After Royce & Hush's death he hacks their data core then deleting all of his files and contracts of assassinations so that his crimes go unnoticed while leaking the rest of the Agency's crimes
- After finding Diana on Surveillance he goes to her location where she tasks him to kill Don Archibald Yates & Tamara Vidal
- He can kill Yates by electrocuting him with a microphone as well as causing a mess in the winery and electrocute him as well as other wine workers too,
- He can impale Yate's head right through the eye on a pen,
- He can trick Yate's wife Valentina to push him off the balcony
- He can stab Yates after a confrontation with Diana
- He can kill Vidal by locking her inside a freezer,
- He can push Vidal into a grape crusher,
- He can crush Vidal's body with a grape presser,
- He can push Vidal inside a vat of wine
- He can trick 2 sniping soldiers into killing Vidal.
- After confronting Diana knowing she is a spy for providence now, Diana uses a neurotoxin on 47 which knocks him out, while feeling betrayed 47 then realises Diana gave 47 a chance to get close to Edwards, the big bad.
- When he wakes up in on a train in Romania he makes it to the front of the train to kill the final target Arthur Edwards
- 47 can inject a serum into Edwards which makes him lose his memories or just kill him in any other way.
- After Edwards, Diana destroys Providence from the inside and 47 temporarily retires with no employers at all
- After ICA and Providence is dismantled, a year later 47 reunites with Diana and the duo decide to remain as assassins with no connections or associates but themselves.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He is an assassin that has murdered over 348 people for his clients and also for himself.
- Was willing to risk a gang war breaking out between the red dragon and blue dragon triads in order to make Lee Hong easier to assassinate.
- He has some moments of cruelty, such as killing a postman on the small chance he might have been an assassin, leaving Lenny Dexter to die in a desert and his murder methods can be brutal at times.
- After recovering from his fake funeral, he guns down his enemies, but also an innocent journalist named Rick Henderson in order to preserve his identity.
- While he is against killing innocents now, he is still willing to endanger them if it helps him kill his targets, making his standards weak at best.
- He has an option to kill up to 140 innocents inside the Hokkaido GAMA Hospital if they are infected with the Nabazov Virus, even though there is a cure available in the level.
