You really outdid yourself this time, Zed. The retirement charade, sending Agent J to feed me false information... But did you really believe you could outwit me? You see, Zed, I possess the combined intellect of four superior races... and the brute force of one stupid one. You're out of your league, old boy.
~ Alpha to Chief Zed.

Alpha is the main antagonist of the 1997 cartoon series, Men in Black: The Series. He was one of the founders of the Men in Black agency, a secret agency policing alien activity on Earth that thwarts alien threats and ensures the civilians aliens live peacefully on Earth, all while keeping their existence a secret to humans, being its first chief, Chief Zed's predecessor and the mentor of Agent K. However, a lust for power soon corrupts Alpha and soon becomes the MIB's greatest threat and the archenemy to Agent K and his protégée, Agent J.

He was voiced by the late David Warner.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He always speaks with politeness, even if faked due to him being a purely evil villain, to both his enemies and allies, accentuating a classy charm brought in perfectly by the vocal performance of the late David Warner.
  • Unlike most of the series' villains, Alpha ends up joining in on the series' banter.
  • He is the very brilliant mind that brought the entire Men in Black agency to its start, efficiently keeping it and the alien life on Earth's existence a secret for his entire tenure, and is the one who taught Agent K, one of the MIB's greatest agents, everything he knows.
  • When outed as a traitor, he evaded the Men in Black and other governing agencies all across the cosmos, skillfully mastering alien parts to enhance his power and become an even greater threat.
  • He baited Agent K to use a selective memory projector to alert him of his presence and lure K to a trap while posing as the extremely affable Agent A to avoid detection.
  • When having to steal a second Sintillian heart, he effortlessly broke into the highly fortified MIB Headquarters to kidnap the Sintillian and managed to escape.
  • He had Jack Jeebs call the MIB to set up a trap that separated J and K, then separated J and a healing symbiote named Troy to absorb it and heal his body parts.
  • Even when all the alien parts gained their own bodies and Alpha was left powerless, he simply restarted and amassed enough power to be an even more powerful being.
  • He used a quick clone of Agent J to divert Agent K into leaving, while secretly taking a sample of the quick clone for himself and make it far more advanced and less prone to melting.
  • He unleashed the new clone onto the Men in Black organization to have him steal Chief Zed's brain and look into his memories to find the value of a painting that contains the launch sites to all the missiles in the universe.
  • He hijacked the Blackguard satellite to effortlessly get rid of all threats to his plans of world domination.
  • He inspected the inside of Jack Jeebs' ship and skillfully uncovered K and J's plan to sabotage him.
  • He hijacked a Russian satellite and crashed it into Antarctica to find the Taraxis and use it to conquer the universe, all with relative ease through skillful use of his technology.
  • He freed Jack's evil brother named Dak Jeebs to incapacitate J and deal with the Worms when they try to stop him.
  • He played along Zed's "retirement" scheme while knowing it's a trap, kidnapping J to trick the Men in Black organization while sending a hologram to Zed's "retirement home" to get them to come to him and effortlessly decimated much of their agents, trying to dispose of Zed in the process.
  • He used J's desperation to make him play chess with him while giving subtle clues of information on the Ixions, and then tricked him into giving him a digital chess board which he effortlessly hacked the prison's high security with and escaped.
  • He orchestrated Vangus' release when he was arrested and organized the Ixion invasion that brought MIB and Earth to its knees, with the most defining moment being when he managed to destroy the MIB Headquarters upon finding a way to bypass the shields, crippling Earth's defense.
  • When his deal with Vangus failed due to Vangus betraying him and trying to destroy Earth out of impatience, he teamed up with J and K to use his knowledge and cybernetics to try and disable the missile, planning to have them under his rule afterwards, and nearly succeeds, only failing due to the unreliability of Ixion technology and it unexpectedly launched the missile onto Earth with him on it before time.
  • No matter what the Men in Black organization throw at him, Alpha always managed to find a way to escape every near-death experience tossed at him, via looking through other people's traps and his surroundings and the rest of the time is a flat-out Karma Houdini, always returning even greater a threat than ever which the MIB struggle to put down.
    • Even when faced with his final fate, Alpha accepts his own death with dignity and reacts with the mildest disappointment imaginable when K instead detonates the missile.
  • Despite being Pure Evil, Alpha isn't too vile not only due to him having to be compared to the much more petty, needlessly cruel and despicable Vangus, who unnecessarily threatens all life on the planet he invades, Alpha's evil is heavily neutered as a result of content standards kid's cartoons face, a great example being the act of grafting alien parts, such as heads, who remain alive and conscious and while the crime is horrifying on paper, the heads are also the goofy comic reliefs, and the rest of his evil comes from grandiose plans that highlight how impressive Alpha is.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • He killed a few Verulians to get his hands on the Cosmic Integrator, despite it being illegal to use, coldly shooting Agent K when he refused to join him.
  • He used the Cosmic Integrator to butcher aliens across the galaxy and insert their body parts and organs into himself to become a powerful being, trapping them in a fate worse than death as they are aware of their helpless state while being forced to do Alpha's bidding, constantly butchering more throughout the series, including a fisherman.
  • He tried to steal a Sintillian’s two hearts to achieve immortality despite knowing it would kill him, even frying the first heart when J and K try to foil him.
  • He stole Chief Zed’s brain to look into his memories, considering having the brain grafted onto his spinal cord for the intelligence that can be acquired.
  • He repeatedly tried to conquer the world through means of mass murder that threatens thousands at the least and billions at the most, such as hijacking the Blackguard satellite to destroy the MIB headquarters and several other places to make Earth his shooting gallery, attempting to melt the polar ice caps to flood half of Earth and conquer the rest, and unleashing an Ixion invasion on Earth to lay destruction on several cities.
