Angel Gabby is the titular deuteragonist of the East Patch analog horror series Angel Hare, serving as the deuteragonist of season 1 and the overarching protagonist of season 2.

At first, she appears to be the protagonist of a Christian children's program called "Angel Hare". In actuality, she is Archangel Gabriel themselves, who served as the guardian angel of the series' protagonist, Jonah, serving as emotional support for him when she became aware of his abusive father.

What Makes Her Magnificent?[]

  • In general, Angel Gabby shows an incredibly comforting and calm personality throughout the series, courtesy of Stephanie Varens' calming performance, and rarely ever gets mad or upset. All of this makes her an incredibly lovable figure to follow throughout the show.
    • It helps that Gabby is pitted against HIM, a Hate Sink who abused his own son and gave him severe scars, making her even more easy to root for.
  • She served as a comforting presence in Jonah's life and was the main reason Jonah was able to recover from his abuse by teaching him techniques to endure HIS abuse.
  • In Tape 3, she successfully teaches Jonah on how to take apart a gun and properly hid it to ensure that HE wouldn't use it to hurt anyone.
  • Gabby indirectly expresses to Jonah through the plot of the next VHS tape that he doesn't have to forgive his father if he doesn't want to.
  • In Tape 4, Gabby concocts with what was likely an incredibly elaborate murder plan to keep Jonah safe from his abusive father.
    • Gabby has Jonah go to a friend's house so that he can have an alibi in case the police shows up.
    • Afterwards, she condemned HIM to an ambiguously karmic fate to ensure Jonah's safety and ended HIS evil for good.
    • To cover up her tracks, Gabby is heavily implied to have flooded the Municipal Building to destroy all evidence and ensures that Jonah doesn't become an accomplice to murder.
  • In the Season 1 Finale, Gabby happily welcomes Jonah when seeing him again for the first time in years.
  • Attempts to try and save millions of children throughout the internet by spreading herself throughout the computers.
    • While this did lead to her breaking down from the sensory overload of hearing so many people at once, it should be mentioned that Gabby just learned about the internet and despite being stuck in a FWTD, she still managed to hold herself together for nearly a week.
  • Despite her state, Gabby still remained relatively composed when Jonah, Zag and Francis found her.
  • When Jonah asks Gabriel to wipe his memory again, she rejects this possibility and negotiates with Jonah by providing him the opportunity to become the new CEO of Wreath of Life which would allow her to keep helping the internet in a healthier manner.
  • Wasn't afraid at trying to enter the game, Hyrax in the Rocks, to help Camael despite the potential risks.
  • The first QnA of Season 3 reveals that Gabby forgave Francis for reading her mail in her absence and didn't try to punish him.
  • When Jonah has to go by himself without the party members, Gabby advises him to look out for himself, trusting him to help Camael.
  • Upon realizing that Camael was the game itself and represented everything in it, Gabby tries to convince him to go out on his own before forcefully pulling him out as a last resort.
  • After realizing the self-destructive mindset Camael had to helping Segen, Gabby tries to encourage him to get help. This, alongside Jonah's advice, encourages Camael to work on a path of self-improvement.
  • Unlike most supernatural entities in Analog Horror, Angel Gabby is to be a genuinely benevolent entity who always tries to help those around her.

What Makes Her A Baddie?[]

  • While HE deserved his horrific fate at Gabby's hands, it's possible that Gabby indirectly risked Jonah being held as an accomplice to murder given that she had him forge an alibi for what could've been a murder plot.
  • It's heavily implied that to cover her tracks, Gabby flooded the Municipal Building which would've constituted collateral damage and likely endangered innocent people.
  • At the end of Season 3, she pulled Camael out of his game by force which caused him some pain. However, given the situation, Gabby likely didn't have any other option to help him.

Trivia[]

  • She, alongside Agent Bishop , Buer, Gentle Criminal, Oliver Grayson, Oogway, and Right Back at Ya! Meta Knight are the only Magnificent Baddies to also be Pure Good.
    • Out of all of them though, Gabby is technically the only one to not be redeemed or reformed due to always being completely good with the actions that make her bad enough being ambiguous and reliant on Fridge Horror, making them just vague enough to not be preventing for Pure Good while having enough gravity to make her bad enough to count here.
    • It is for this reason that she qualifies as a Karma Houdini since she technically got away with her crimes by the end of the series. While she was briefly stuck in a FWTD due to breaking down from the sensory overload of trying to help the internet, this fails to nullify her KH status since Jonah helps her out of this state and she goes back to normal.
