What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He is tragic due to being unfairly punished for crimes he did not commit while he was alive and being forced to kill people for the Counter force after death which betrayed his ideal of wanting to save everyone.
- He is incredibly strategic as noted by Caster and is considered one of the smartest people in the war.
- He sacrifices himself in the Fate route to save Shirou, Rin, and Saber by staying behind to fight Berserker who managed to kill 6 time’s reducing his lives to just 3, a feat that shocked Illya.
- He pretends to join Caster and her master and betraying Rin in the process but in reality was getting close to them so once Caster was weakened he killed her and her master.
- He held his own against Lancer twice.
- His plan to erase himself was well thought out, either he wins the Grail War and kills Shirou, or he gets killed himself and ends his suffering.
- He accepted his defeat against Shirou accepting his ideals as a hero of justice and saved him from getting skewered by Gilgamesh.
- He survives his injuries from Gilgamesh and comes back and saves Rin and Shinji and stops Gilgamesh from killing Shirou by shooting Gil in the face.
- Archer saves Shirou’s life in the Heavens Feel Route by giving Shirou his left arm, giving him his memories and power and as a result dies from his injuries.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- As part of his job as Counter Guardians he has had to sacrifice the few to save the many so he has killed many people although he dislikes having to sacrifice innocent life.
- He attempted to kill Shirou due to him being his past self, hoping that it would cause paradox that would free Archer from Eternally serving the Counter force.
