~ Bill Cipher |
Bill Cipher is the main antagonist of Gravity Falls and is also a reoccurring antagonist in Cartoon Fight Club and its spinoffs such as Rewind Rumble, a series hosted by AnimationRewind where characters from all sorts of works duke it out to obtain victory. Bill is one of the 'poster boys' of the series and notorious due to being an incredibly tough opponent with a multitude of losses and wins in his resume.
What makes him Magnificent?[]
- Loses the disqualifying factors that detracted from his magnificence and got his original version rejected while still retaining his charm and humor:
- Though he's still a card-carrying sadist, he doesn't commit For the Evulz crimes and is more focused on simply getting the job done.
- He doesn't suffer from irrecoverable villainous breakdowns as when he loses, he goes out in glory and does his best.
- Unlike the original, this version has redeeming qualities and is not a heartless monster.
- He fails to be too heinous since damage is repaired and characters get revived in between episodes.
- Due to the fact this series is about characters fighting each other, this version of Bill focuses more on full-on badassery by showing his competence as a fighter.
- His original status as Laughably Evil is upgraded to proper Comic Relief, as he is one of the funniest characters in the show due to breaking the fourth wall and cracking jokes rather often.
- Using his powers and intelligence, he has a lot of victories in his track record.
- While he does loose from time to time, he still gives his opponents an epic challenge thanks to his wits and abilities, he's even able to give OP meme characters such as the Illuminati a run for their money.
- Uses his Weirdmageddon not to terrorize people for fun, but more as a super weapon that he unleashes in battle.
- He's not cowardly or anything, as he is willing to take risks even if it means he'll die.
- Has a sense of affability and honor as he is known to tip his hat to his enemies in respect. His honor is further shown as he tends to hold back at first before going all out when the time requires it.
- He's capable of putting his rivalry with the Pines aside and has willingly fought alongside them as an ally in certain battles.
- He's a lot more merciful than his original counterpart, such as in his debut episode Bill Cipher Vs Discord where he turned Discord to stone by unleashing Weirdmageddon, but then spared the ponies. He also spares Sans in their first encounter despite winning.
- In the Reality Warper free for all, he was banished into the garbage bin but a few seconds later found a way back into the Multiverse, even though it was his fight against Asriel in which he lost in, but he entered it anyway, dying but still re-entering the multiverse. Later, he gets banished again, and then finds another loophole back in.
- In the Reality Warper free for all, he appeared to express concern over millions of people dying across the Multiverse, showing even he has standards.
- The only times he ever looses his composure is when he gets mad, but when that happens he ditches his sophistication in favor of going full on Doomguy Mode like a badass before returning to his composure in mere seconds.
- He's a one-man team, and was capable of holding his own against the entirety of the Illuminati's hive mind.
- He thinks on his feet to outclass his competition quite often as he can adapt his fighting strategy mid-battle in order to gain advantage by either changing his tactics, switching to a different form or simply unleashing Weirdmageddon, such as in his fight against Jevil where he turned into his own version of the Devilsknife to counter Jevil's attacks.
- Overall retains his charm, cunningness and coolness while not being over the top heinous.
What makes him a Baddie?[]
- Even if he's more magnificent, it's still Bill Cipher, so he's obviously a baddie.
- Has used his Weirdmageddon to cause chaos and destruction multiple times in multiple fights
- In his rematch against Sans, he kills Papyrus while doing his signature evil laugh. (Mind you it's possible he did this to prevent Papyrus from interfering in the one against one battle given this version of Bill has a sense of honor). In general, it is shown he enjoys killing bystanders of the battle, although this doesn't cross into For the Evulz territory as its possible he does it to prevent them from interfering in the fights.
- While its toned down, his sadism is still there as it is shown he finds participating and fighting his opponents fun in a way, he even confirms this in Bill Cipher vs. Asriel by joking how its been a long time since he killed an Undertale character.
- Throughout the series, Bill has made it very clear he one day desires on taking over the Multiverse.
