| ~ Blackarachnia resisting Tarantulas' attempts to dominate her |
Blackarachnia is a major antagonist in the 2021 comic book series, Transformers: Beast Wars, by IDW Publishing. Originally a Maximal protoform, Blakcarachnia was brainwashed to become a Predacon by Tarantulas' shell programming. However, still managing to retain her individuality and not be his slave, she becomes one of the Predacons' most elusive and dangerous operators, and even takes over the Predacons by the end of the series.
What Makes Her Magnificent?[]
- In her introduction arc, she infiltrates the Axalon, i.e the Maximal base, and then wraps Cheetor in web to ensure the Maximals won't be alerted of her presence.
- Hacking into the ship's database, she nearly steals it's datafiles before moving on to complete Tarantulas' project by infecting the rest of the Maximal protoforms with his Predacon shell programming and call them from orbit, managing to succeed with half of them, showing she has gone further than what Tarantulas hoped to achieve.
- She uses a tripwire to distract the Maximals so that she can blow a hole on the ship and escape.
- When Cheetor catches up to him, she tricks him into believing she laid another trap on the Axalon, forcing him to retreat and leave her open to escape to the Predacon's ship, the Darksyde.
- Infiltrating Tarantulas' lab, in spite of being brainwashed to being an evil Predacon thanks to her programming, she makes it clear to Tarantulas that she is still not his slave and will not be easily forced by him or anyone.
- Helps set up numerous traps for the Maximals, such as creating a maze for the Maximals to get lost in, or ambushing Optimus Primal and Dinobot as a distraction while Tarantulas plants a bomb that will instill an artificial aggression to the Maximals and have them attack each other.
- When Tarantulas betrays both sides to the Vok when a truce was formed to take them down, she manages to corner her treacherous creator and nearly had him dead for rights, who could only escape due to the chaos caused by the Vok and Megatron's defeats.
- Ends the series taking over the Predacons in wake of Megatron's defeat, focusing on her efforts to salvage the Vok technology to repair the Darksyde and flee ancient Earth.
What Makes Her a Baddie?[]
- Infects half of the Maximal protoforms with a shell programming that will brainwash them into evil Predacons like herself.
- Threatens to leave Cheetor to be tortured by Tarantulas should he refuse to be slain quickly by her hand.
- Has no loyalty to the Predacons, making it clear she'll betray them should she see it convenient.
