Captain Nathaniel Flint is the overarching antagonist of Disney's 43rd animated feature-length film Treasure Planet, an adaptation of the late Robert Louis Stevenson's 1882 adventure novel Treasure Island.
He is the most fearsome and legendary pirate in the galaxy who is infamous for his greed and the vastly amounts of loot that he had achieved through his raids throughout the galaxy and stashed up on a whole planet that became known as the titular Treasure Planet. Being known for stashing up the largest loot ever and being the richest pirate in the galaxy, Flint conveys and dedicates himself to protect such title.
He was voiced by Peter Cullen, who also played Optimus Prime from the Transformers film-series.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He leads a stealthy raid on a bunch of merchant ships on the clearest of nights, managing to sneakily pursue them while the passengers were unaware of their presence and felt safe and secure before having his crew fire at them with cannonballs and engaging in a shooting battle against the ship's security, swooping in out of nowhere, looting all the treasure, and vanishing with his ship and crew without a trace.
- He manages to loot countless riches beyond imagination across the galaxy of a thousand worlds and stash enough of it into a planet to the point of earning it the name of Treasure Planet.
- It is revealed that he managed to pull off his loots and raids by using his portal to roam the universe stealing treasure, even going for locations that are halfway across the galaxy and would take a long time to get to.
- He keeps all the loot he stashed up in Treasure Planet well hidden to the point of no one was able to know where it is for a long time by entrusting one of his mates, Billy Bones, to keep a map to it in the form of a mechanical ball, ripping out the mind of a robot named B.E.N. to ensure he doesn't tell anyone, and putting the location of Treasure Planet in the centroid of the mechanism that would take forever to discover.
- He rigs the planet with a trap he set up right before and underneath the entrance through a portal to the planet to cause it to explode and ensure they don't get the treasure, managing to outwit Silver as he stepped into it and wound up escaping the place with only a few doubloons.
What Makes Him A Baddie?[]
- Sneakily pursuing merchant ships, he leads a raid on them with his crew while shooting cannonballs at them and potentially endangering the passengers and his crew battles the passengers on board before stealing all the treasure with glee and leaving the ship burning in space, likely resulting in the ship's passengers being left for dead.
- He is conveyed to have regularly looted treasure in similar methods at least a good amount of times to the point of where he has amassed a treasure planet out of all his lootings.
- He ripped out the mind of his robot B.E.N. in order to ensure that he doesn't tell anyone about how to get into Treasure Planet, which results in him becoming an amnesiac in the process.
- Wanting to protect his title as the richest pirate in the galaxy and to ensure all his hard work of looting so much treasure does not go to waste, he sets up a trap that will rig his planet to blow whilst all the treasure gets burnt to ensure that no one steals either his title or his treasure. This would result in a few of John Silver's crew dying later on.
