Often more of a crafty nuisance rather than a fearsome enemy, a Trickster may take many forms, from a disguised con artist, to a cheater to a mischievous imp with a sense of thrill. Adventures with trickster-type villains tend to be light and comedy-oriented, and the hero typically finds a way to defeat them non-violently (sometimes the heroes will have resort to using subtlety and secretive plans to foil their plans in an equally deceptive and more unpredictable fashion if the heroes just also happen to be guile tricksters themselves).

Other times, however, there are dangerous and serious Magnificent Baddies that can deploy very sneaky tactics and deceptive techniques to fool their enemies and/or the heroes since trickery is their expertise. And instead of their behavior coming off as too obnoxious/annoying, petty or overly smug, their acts of trickery are seen in a much more respectable light.

NOTE: Not to be confused with Liars who trick others or Mischievous characters; this page is just for villains who fit the Trickster archetype.
