Dabi is the secondary antagonist of the My Hero Academia franchise.

He is the oldest son the former Number and current Number 1 hero Endeavor and the oldest brother of Shoto Todoroki, as well as their arch-nemesis. Neglected by his father for not being the perfect blend of the ice and Fire quirk and presumed dead Dabi joins the League of Villains to fulfill his goal of revenge against his father and Family and the destruction of in his eyes the corrupt Hero Society.

He was voiced by Hiro Shimono in Japanese, and Jason Liebrecht in the English dub, who also voiced Zeke Yeager in Attack on Titan.

What Makes Him Magnificent?

• He has tragic backstory of being neglected by his father due to him not having the fire and ice quirk combo and driven to the point he was burned alive, having him desire revenge against his abusive father and the rest of his family something that is played repeatedly for sympathy.
• While clearly insane, it does not impact his magnificence as for most of the series, he keeps a level head when it comes to his planning and conceals it well unearth his charisma and snark.
• He is one of the few characters to never be a pawn of AFO, rejecting his attempts to groom him into a weapon and following his own plans, only working with him in the present out of necessity and smartly refuses to accept Quirks from him knowing about the Nomus.
• He manages to keep his dying body alive through sheer willpower and hate of his family giving him insane determination to see his goals through
• Simply by watching Endeavor in action on videos, he figured out how to copy and even surpass his firepower abilities.
• Upon Joining the League of Villains, he successfully led the Vanguard Action Squad in a coordinated attack at the UA camp and succeeds in their goal to capture Bakugo.
• Despite suspecting Hawks to be a double agent he lets him join by telling him to kill Best Jeanist and planned on using this info later as part of his video to take down Hero Society.
• He uses Hawks' real name mid battle to distract him to give Twice a chance to escape.
• He prepared for the betrayal of Hawks ahead of time by giving himself an extra charge of Firepower to throw off Hawk's predictions about his stamina, nearly killing him if not for Geten's Iceberg blocking his path.
• He has Skeptic post a video online detailing his family history, outing Endeavor as an abuser and also revealed Hawks' dad to be a villain, included the fact he killed Best Jeanist, and even included his murder of Twice in the last second to make him look worse.
  • This video utterly tanked faith in Hero Society causing widespread distrust and caused Dabi to succeed in his goal of ruining his father's reputation
• He manages to avoid being defeated by Shoto at the last second by copying his Phosphor technique to prevent Shoto from cooling him off.
• While he does suffer a breakdown due to the heat of him trying to explode himself causing him to be reduced to a childlike state and lies at the end of it as a charred body, he manages to recover later when put on life support, still snarky as ever and refusing to accept Endeavor only now making time for him.
• He manages to connect with Shoto in his final scene, bonding over the fact they both like Soba with him shedding tears and internally apologizing to Shoto.

What Makes Him a Baddie?

• By his own admission he has burned well over 30 innocent people alive to build his villain reputation and this is excluding random thugs he murdered on a regular basis too.
• He is a certified member of the League of Villains an accomplice to all their crimes against society.
• Unlike the rest of the League, he doesn't even care about his allies, seeing them all as tools to complete his goals.
• Directly kidnapped Bakugo, leading to the heroes coming to save him and eventually the brawl between All Might and All For One that caused the former's retirement.
• Unleashed a High End Nomu into a city in attempt to kill Endeavor, endangering many lives in the process.
• Sent Starvest and Ending after Endeavor, with the latter villain almost killing his brother Natsuo, something Dabi expresses disappointment didn't end up happening because it would've made his father suffer more.
• Took advantage of Twice, his own ally's, death to make Hawks look like a monster by manipulating the footage to make it look like Hawks murdered him in cold-blood.
• He causes the collapse of Hero Society thanks to his video exposing the corruption in it, which nearly leads to Midoriya abandoning his loved ones for their safety.
• He attempted to not only kill his whole family via blowing himself up but planned to kill everyone in a 5-kilometer radius including innocent evacuees at UA, and even his own ally Toga, just to spite his father.
