“ | Equality is a lie, A myth to appease the masses. Simply look around and you will see the lie for what it is! There are those with power, those with the strength and will to lead. And there are those meant to follow—those incapable of anything but servitude and a meager, worthless existence. Equality is a perversion of the natural order! | „ |

Darth Bane, born under the name of Dessel, is a major antagonist in the Star Wars franchise.
He is the titular villainous protagonist of the novels Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, Darth Bane: Rule of Two, and Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil. He was the Sith'ari and the Dark Lord of the Sith responsible for creating the Rule of Two.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He was abused as a child by his father and grew up on an armpit of a planet. while it's easy to see how this shaped him into a monster, he makes no attempt to justify his actions with it.
- He is a very skilled and intelligent individual with a wealth of experience in a variety of combat roles. He's particularly skilled when it comes to the areas of espionage and deception, keeping his true intentions secret and misdirecting the suspicions of his teacher while at the Sith Academy on Korriban.
- He was a skilled duelist as well, capable of holding his own against multiple Jedi at once, with his fighting style growing in complexity as he perfected it.
- On top of all this, he has deep knowledge of ancient Sith secrets and is even skilled and knowledgeable enough to attempt the extremely dangerous ritual of transferring his essence.
- After realizing that the Brotherhood of Darkness is hopelessly flawed, Bane engineers its annihilation and devises the "Rule of Two," planning to turn the Sith's greatest weaknesses, their greed and ambition, into their greatest strengths.
- Spending the next two decades training his apprentice, Darth Zannah, and laying the groundwork for the Sith's domination of the galaxy, Bane endures every setback and challenge that comes his way with his iron will and near-infinite patience, holding firm to his self-imposed ideals and even managing to turn a parasitic infestation into an advantage.
- Ultimately meeting his end in a duel with his apprentice in accordance with the Rule of Two, Bane's legacy endures, setting a standard for the next thousand years of Sith Lords and setting the stage for the eventual fall of the Jedi and the Republic.
- While he’s a cold-blooded killer, he's not a petty sadist, doesn't kill on a whim, and will spare people's lives if they prove themselves useful. He also sabotages many plots to split up the Republic, not because he cares about it but because a fractured galaxy is more work to subvert and conquer.
- His strength in the force, influence on the Sith by creating the Rule of Two and ultimately sucessful plan against the Jedi leads to him being a likely candidate for the Sith'ari, the Sith version of the chosen one.
- He succeeded in everything he wanted as he destroyed the Brotherhood of Darkness, established his new Sith Order, and successfully trained a worthy apprentice. Even his own death is in accordance with his doctrine, and even after he's gone, his Sith continue on for a thousand years, a feat few other Sith can claim to match.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- After Githany has poisoned him, when the poison proved to be too strong, he collapsed, and a family of three children and their father found him, and he used the Force to control the lightsaber and kill the boys. In so doing, he absorbed the father's horror and suffering, using it to temporarily give him strength. Still feeding on the man's fear, Bane then killed him, ignoring his pleas for mercy.
- When dying of poison, he forces a healer to medicate him by threatening to drop the man's young daughter into a pot of boiling water.
- He manipulates Kaan, the leader of the Brotherhood of Darkness, into using an inherently suicidal Force technique that destroys the entire group and the vast majority of the Jedi Order's bodies, leaving him the sole remaining Sith Lord. trapping the souls of every nearby force-sensitive, and that will leave their souls trapped for thousands of years of suffering until they are freed from the vortex.
- Also, there was a child who was killed there, and he attempted to kill Darovit when he challenged him but stopped after Zantac blew up his arm, or because he didn't feel the need to do so after that.
- He is indirectly responsible for all the Sith that came after him and fellowed his rule and has a very direct influence over them, even Emperor Palpatine.
