I stand before you now to say you are the old way, Invincible! I represent a new world order! Tremble before the might of Dinosaurus!
~ Dinosaurus introducing himself to Invincible.
You have to kill me.
~ Dinosaurus's last words to Invincible as he realizes his delusions of helping the world.

Dinosaurus is a major antagonist in the Image Comics series Invincible. Dinosaurus is a split personality of his human counterpart, David Anders, and while his past as David Anders is unknown, Dinosaurus is a highly intelligent dissociative personality that is primarily focused on trying to help humanity with highly destructive goals. Dinosaurus initially used to be Invincible's friend to help the world, but turned on him when he detonated bombs to blow up the North Pole.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • Despite being defeated in almost every battle, Dinosaurus is able to succeed his plans in the end.
  • He blows up Las Vegas over the belief that the entire city can be replaced with solar panels to benefit humanity in the future. While Dinosaurus may have lost to Invincible, he was still able to blow up the city and have the solar panels planted in the aftermath of the city's destruction.
  • He becomes friends with Invincible and is shown to be genuinely affable towards both his enemies and allies.
  • He and Invincible stopped Omnipotus by working together.
  • When Invincible is sick with the Scourge Virus, Dinosaurus comes to his aid and works in the Viltrumite Warship as a researcher to find a cure.
  • Before fighting Thragg, Dinosaurus makes sure to plant bombs around the Viltrumite Warship. He also makes the bombs in the Viltrumite Warship correspond to his heart just in case Thragg tries to kill him.
  • Although Dinosaurus may have lost to Thragg in battle, he was able to succeed in his plan to save Invincible from Thragg. In the end, Dinosaurus and Invincible escape the Viltrumite Warship through a space pod.
  • After escaping Thragg, Dinosaurus turns back into David Anders in order to heal. A few moments later David Anders turns back into Dinosaurus, and he becomes on high alert to make sure that he and Invincible have escaped Thragg.
  • Takes the time to build a device in secret while Invincible rests.
  • Distracts the superheroes by planting decoy bombs in Los Angeles, and said decoys were able to prevent the superheroes from discovering the real bombs in the Arctic.
  • He bombs the Arctic to save billions of people in the next few centuries despite having to lose millions of lives during the catastrophe.
  • He was able to realize his delusions in the end and asks Invincible to kill him, as Dinosaurus does not want to become a monster in the end. This is what prevents Dinosaurus from becoming too heinous of a magnificent baddie.

What Makes Him A Baddie?[]

  • Dinosaurus meets Invincible by assaulting and berating the superhero that reconstructing buildings will slow down the evolution of humanity. Dinosaurus attempts to kill Invincible, but is quickly taken down by him and transforms back into David Anders.
  • He blows up Las Vegas with explosives after escaping prison. While it was able to benefit humanity in the future, he still caused numerous deaths.
  • He takes things even further by blowing up the Arctic because he believes that it will save billions of people in the next few centuries. The result of blowing up the Arctic results in the death of millions of people all because Dinosaurus refuses to believe he is wrong.
