Dominick Cobb, also known as Dom, is the main protagonist of the 2010 science-fiction movie, Inception. An extractor by trade, Dom gets framed by his wife for her suicide so that he could "escape" the dream-world and as a result, he decides to clear his name so that he could get back to his children.
He is played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- While he used inception to convince Mal that she is stuck in Limbo, he only did it so that they could get back to their kids.
- He was horrified to see the idea getting stuck in Mal's head which made her obsess onto thinking even the real-world is an illusion, leading to her suicide.
- Took up several jobs for Cobol Engineering, using skillful manipulation of the target's psyche to convince them that nothing is wrong, leading to several successful heists from their target's mind.
- He initially convinced Saito that he is not in a dream, and was only foiled due to his guilt forming Mal and her sabotaging the meet.
- He revealed that this was also a backup as he tried to interrogate Saito again in the upper level of the dream. This only backfired due to Saito getting suspicious and Nash failing to account of the possibility of Saito's interrogation.
- While Nash tried to sell them out to Saito and the latter giving him a chance to enact vengeance, Dom refused to kill him.
- Was concerned about Nash once Saito's men dragged him away to the mercy of Cobol Engineering.
- Accepted Saito's proposal to implant the idea into Robert Fischer's mind that his father wanted to see him independent, so that Saito's corporation takes over as a monopoly.
- Taught Ariadne about how much she can bend the dreams to suit the plan's liking.
- Planned how to gain Fischer's trust without arousing his suspicion.
- As "Mr. Charles", Dom convinced Fischer that he was in the dream world and his secrets might get stolen, thus gaining his trust.
- He also managed to turn him against his own subconscious, so that Fischer would believe Browning is trying to sabotage him.
- Lured Mal after she appeared again so that their mission doesn't fail.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- Hid the information about Mal from his team, leading to her sabotaging his operations multiple times.
- While on the run, Dom and his team stole information for Cobol Engineering, heavily implied to be a shady tech company.
- Accepted the offer to gaslight Robert Fischer, a man who did nothing to him.
