HUNK: Why'd you come back.
Night Hawk: I wanted to meet The Grim Reaper.
~ HUNK after telling Nighthawk to escape Racoon City due to the impending missile launch

HUNK is a minor antagonist in the 1998 video game Resident Evil 2. He is an extremely capable and dangerous soldier who is infamous for his one man army abilities, 100% success rate on all of his missions for Umbrella and being a rogue agent that still hasn't been caught after Umbrella was stopped in 2003, his ultimate fate being ambiguous.

He was voiced by Keith Silverstein.

What Makes Him Magnificent[]

  • During the start of his career, HUNK was known for having a 100% success rate and often being the sole survivor in all his assignments.
  • Despite being very successful, he is not a villain sue as he and his team's plan to extract Birkin and get the G-Samples failed at first due to Birkin coming back using a G-Sample and then killed almost all of HUNK's men and he accidentally dropped the case carrying the G-Samples but HUNK quickly came up with a backup plan that he would retrieve another G-Sample and then get extracted after surviving Raccoon City for a week.
  • He has honour, shown when due to his extraction being delayed due to the R.P.D doors being blocked, HUNK told NIGHT HAWK and the others to leave as he did not want to get them killed waiting for him despite having no other way out of the city and knowing that a bomb was going to hit the city soon and made an effort to tell Alfred Ashford that he should inform the people on Rockfort Island what was inside the container so they could be prepared to fight it if what was inside the container was dangerous.
  • After Umbrella was stopped in 2003, he went rogue and gained a reputation as a legendary mercenary and is one of the previous agents of Umbrella that is still on the run 18 years later.
  • He developed the Close Quarters Quarantine Battle Zone fighting style, which is the melee style he uses in all his games and is filled with flashy and powerful attacks.
  • He proved himself to be the better mercenary then his rival Nicholai Ginovaef as while HUNK survived Racoon City and got away with his crimes, Nicholai was killed in the missile launch soon after due to letting his arrogance take over him and allowing Carlos and Jill to get the upper hand and subsequently beat him in a fight.

What makes him a Baddie[]

  • He aided Umbrella with their schemes for years and was considered their best/second best mercenary with him pulling off many successful missions.
  • He successfully got a sample of the G-Virus and sold it to Christine Henry, meaning he is not above causing potential bioterrorism to complete his mission.
  • He doesn't care for his men as he sees his missions as a war zone where death is necessary.
