Herobrine is a major character in the Animation vs. Minecraft series, serving as the main antagonist of the original Animation vs. Minecraft and the overarching protagonist of Season 3 of the AvM Shorts.
A malicious entity that once tried to steal the Minecraft Game Icon for his own goals, he is the sole teacher at the Monster School who trains students into becoming killers.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- While he initially failed at his goal of defeating the stick figures, he would ultimately recover from this as seen by how he had not only been revived, but not been affected by the whole ordeal whatsoever.
- He runs a school where he teaches mobs how to kill players, with many of the tests he puts them through often forcing them to think outside of the box and strategize on how to accomplish their goals.
- He's shown to have incredible fighting skills and powers, with him being able to fly, able to create basically anything, and dodge any attack. He was able to take on King Orange at his strongest in a 1-on-1 fight longer than most of the cast, showing his incredible strength.
- His fight with King Orange is incredibly awesome due to the amount of action, the powers that both of them use against each other, as well as the callback to the original AvM with him possessing Red to continue the fight. While he ultimately loses in the end, this isn't because he was outsmarted or weaker, but because King Orange discovered a power that Herobrine had never seen and couldn't counter, and even then he remains defiant to the end, staring at the king in anger before being absorbed.
- He's a rather entertaining antagonist due to his aforementioned powers, as well as his smaller antics through the Monster School episode, such as falling asleep while his students competed in a race he set up for them, not to mention his goofy movement in general.
- He's shown to be affable towards his students, with him generally acting friendly towards them and even going out of his way to try and stop King Orange when three of them were put in danger.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- Prior to mellowing out, he possessed Red in a "And I Must Scream" scenario in order to try and retrieve the Minecraft Game Icon from the other sticks for seemingly malicious purposes, with him even attempting to murder them in a rather brutal fashion by throwing them around and crushing them with an obsidian stick mech that he created.
- He runs a school full of mobs, teaching them how to hunt down and kill innocent players who are just trying to play Minecraft.
- Even if he hated players who ruthlessly exploited the game's inhabitants for their own benefit, his actions & reasons go against the sandbox element of Minecraft, which seems to be a way of life for everyone playing the game. Said sandbox element also seems to be the very foundation Minecraft was made on.
- His methods of teaching his students are often incredibly lethal, such as putting them in a scenario where they could be killed by one of the Steves he created, or having them parkour over a seemingly bottomless pit.
- It should also be worth mentioning that the Steve Clones he summons are shown to be sapient, which means that he is summoning sapient beings just so they can be killed by the mobs that he was training.
- He was completely apathetic to Red being bullied by the other students, with him continuously giving him low grades despite him clearly being sabotaged, and this is without mentioning that he had forced Red to take part in his school program despite him clearly not wanting too.
