Holiday, revealed to be Gilda Dent, is the main antagonist of the two parter animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween, the third and fourth installments of the Tomorrowverse.

She was the wife of Harvey Dent and former lover of Alberto Falcone, who sought to destroy the Falcone family for ending her relationship with Alberto as well as forcing her to abort their child out of wedlock years ago, leaving her sterile. Becoming an elusive serial killer that worked on holidays, she ultimately succeeds in her goals and gets away scot-free.

She is voiced by Julie Nathanson.

What Makes Her Magnificent?[]

  • She has a genuine tragedy of being forced to end her happy relationship with Alberto Falcone and abort her child by the Falcones that explains her grievance towards the Falcone family. She even married D.A Harvey Dent in hopes of taking down the Falcones legally. When this failed, she resorted to more villainous albeit understandable methods to achieve her goals.
  • She constructed the enigmatic Holiday persona, a serial killer who only kills on holidays and leaves presents to sarcastically commemorate each holiday, modifying her guns to be completely untraceable.
  • Despite being the Big Bad, she is a lesser evil compared to the insane and unsympathetic Joker, allowing her to come off as more sympathetic in comparison.
  • She managed to keep any suspicion off herself and exploited the opportunity of Joker assaulting Falcone’s residence to frame him for murdering Carmine Falcone’s top bodyguard.
  • She snuck onto the Falcone family yacht to murder Alberto Falcone, ironically protecting Batman’s secret identity which Alberto had accidentally learned in the process. Despite Batman chasing her down, she escaped.
  • She deduced that Harvey was Batman’s friend and exploited the confrontation between Two-Face and Batman with a police convoy to assassinate Salvatore Maroni from afar, putting an end to the Maroni family.
  • After Two-Face successfully killed Carmine and the last remnants of the Falcone family, she destroyed all the evidence of her being Holiday by the time Batman figured out it was her, calmly revealing her motivations when Batman asked and getting away scot-free, having successfully orchestrated the downfall of the Gotham mafia.
  • She genuinely cared for Harvey, wiping out the triad hired by Falcone that nearly killed Harvey along with tracking down and murdering the assassin sent by Carmine to kill him. Despite being partially responsible for his descent into Two-Face, she expressed remorse and murdered the man directly responsible Sal Maroni, admitting to Batman that she really did love Harvey even if she didn’t love all of him.

What Makes Her a Baddie?[]

  • She is a serial killer and while most of her victims are Gotham mafia members, she often kills them in cold blood while they’re celebrating the holidays.
  • She murdered her supplier and Alberto Falcone to cover her tracks.
