Homare Nishitani is a supporting antagonist in Yakuza 0. He's the wild and hedonistic patriarch of the Kijin Clan, which is a subsidary of the Omi Alliance, a frequent rival of the Tojo Clan.
He was voiced by the late Keiji Fujiwara.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- Overheard Wen Hai Lee's plan to kill a woman who looked like Makoto Makimura in order to fake her death and discourage the Tojo Clan from trying to find her, and did it himself, successfully tricking the Tojo Clan.
- Provoked Majima into fighting him by calling the cops on himself.
- He manipulates Majima into fighting him again, saying that if he wins he'd tell him about a new paty in the Tojo Clan looking for Makimura, which turns out to be the Nikkyo Consortium run by Masaru Sera.
- He's honorable as he kept his promise to tell Majima about the Nikkyo Consortium if he won a fight against him.
- Ever since he was a baby he was good at shoplifting.
- He's able to use prison as a base of operations and can easily get in and out of it, meaning that when he called the cops on himself during his first fight with Majima, it was all another smart maneuver.
- He manages to be both smart and wild, being described as a loose cannon, at the same time, making him a pretty enjoyable and memorable character.
- Majima's Mad Dog persona seems to be at least partially based on Nishitani, showing that Nishitani left an impression on Majima after he sacrificed himself while fending off a rogue police officer who killed Billiken to save Majima.
What Makes Him A Baddie?[]
- Killed an innocent woman to fake Makoto Makimura's death.
- Worked with Keiji Shibusawa and tried to ship over Makimura to him so that Shibusawa can gain ownership of the Empty Lot.
- As a kid he killed another child, albeit this was because said kid murdered his cousin.
