Jimmy: We both know you could've kept most of this. I would have never known the difference.
Ira: Yeah, well, you could've left me high and dry.
~ Ira to Jimmy McGill on why he gave him a fair share of their profits.

Ira is a minor character in the crime drama series Breaking Bad and its prequel series Better Call Saul. He is a professional burglar and the owner of Vamonos Pest, a pest control company that fronts for his burglaries and later Walter White's drug empire.

He was portrayed by Franc Ross.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He is a skilled burglar and thief whose services come highly recommended by Dr. Caldera.
  • He uses a new phone for every job to cover his tracks.
  • He is truly affable to others despite being a thieving criminal.
  • He steals a Hummel figurine for Jimmy from a photocopier shop, bypassing security via bridging the door alarm with a credit card. Even as the owner is unexpectedly staying overnight in the office, Ira eludes him by hiding under his desk for hours and manages to call Jimmy, who causes a distraction that allows Ira to sneak out with the figurine.
  • He evenly splits the proceeds from the sale of the figurine with Jimmy for helping him out of trouble even though he could easily have cheated him out of the money, showing that sometimes there is honor among thieves.
  • By Breaking Bad, he runs Vamonos Pest as a cover for stealing from the fumigated houses or selling information on their valuables, alarm codes or duplicated keys to other criminals.
  • He sells his business to Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and Mike Ehrmantraut, continuing to direct the legitimate pest control operations while secretly using the houses for methamphetamine manufacturing.
  • He is implied to be a Karma Houdini, as his condition after the events of Breaking Bad is unknown.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • He has committed many thefts as part of his career.
  • He becomes involved in Walt's drug organization by having Vamonos Pest front for their meth production.
