Jonathan Rook, also known as the supervillain Stretch Monster is the main antagonist of the 2017 Netflix series Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters which is based on the Stretch Armstrong toyline. He is the CEO of Rook Unlimited as well as secretly the Arch-Enemy supervillain Stretch Monster who is behind the villain attacks throughout the city.
He was voiced by Wil Wheaton. As the Stretch Monster, he was voiced by the late Miguel Ferrer in Season 1, before being replaced by David Kaye after Ferrer's death in Season 2, who also voices Megatron in Transformers: Beast Wars.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- Is extremely intelligent always thinking of everything able to come up with plans on the fly and is always one step ahead of the heroes.
- Is very charismatic and manipulative to the point where he was able to fool the Flex Fighters for a long time and keep who he was a secret.
- Created his company all on his own from the ground up to the point where it became the most powerful in the city.
- Does have some positive traits despite his evil actions like caring about his mother, treating his employees well and having some respect for the Flex Fighters.
- Manipulates the Flex Fighters into joining him.
- Plays everyone like a fiddle throughout the first season and engineers a situation where he will win no matter what happens.
- Manipulates the Flex Fighters by purposefully losing to them and then pretending to have been forced to work with Dr. C the entire time, only doing this so that he could get access to her lair and steal the Prolotite which he needed to create his army of Flexarium monsters.
- When his first plan fails, he uses a backup plan by luring Blindstrike to his lair and draining her of the Prolotite that is in her suit.
- Poisons the Flex Fighters through their snow cones knowing they would figure out he is Stretch Monster and frames them for an attack on him so they are branded as criminals.
- While his obsession with the Flex Fighters is taken advantage of by the Tech Men and Kane he does learn from this and ultimately teams up with them to stop a shared enemy.
- When the Tech Men are defeated Rook reveals that he has managed to erase the confession that he was forced to record and also rigged the device that activated his shock collar instead to spray a gas that knocks out Dr. C. Rook now has his company back and has managed to get away with everything.
What Makes Him a Bastard?[]
- Ultimately is a supervillain who is responsible for a lot of bad things that happen throughout the series.
- When Dr. C and two other doctors went to find a cure for him, but Rook did not want that so he crashed their ship killing the two doctors and nearly killing Dr. C.
- Unleashed many Flexarium Monsters in the city to test the Flex Fighters.
- Planned to create an army of Flexarium Monsters to force humanity to evolve.
- Attempted to kill the Flex Fighters numerous times.
