Tristan "Killian" McFord is the main antagonist of Blue Sky's 13th and final full-length animated feature film Spies in Disguise. He is a vengeful terrorist and crime lord who becomes the arch-nemesis of Lance Sterling, whom he framed for his crimes throughout the film by use of a holographic disguise with his cybernetic hand as part of his whole plot of vengeance against the H.T.U.V. for the deaths of the men he was with during the Kyrgyzstan attack despite said men being criminals.

He was voiced by Ben Mendelsohn.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He catches a bullet Lance Sterling shot at him quickly with his cybernetic hand before flinging it back at him which he dodges before temporarily withholding him by lifting him with said cybernetic hand and leaving the room when the mob comes in to finish him off.
  • He emptied the briefcase initially containing the weaponized drone he bought from Kimura and put it in his helicopter seat to trick Lance once he takes it into thinking he successfully took it.
  • He successfully frames Lance by using a holographic disguise with the help of his technology to make him look like him while using a drone to kill a guard by throwing him off the roof as he is being filmed to make it look like Lance is a criminal.
  • He successfully invades the covert weapons facility by first disguising himself as Sterling before having the drone take out the guards.
  • He gets a scientist to get the facility running at full capacity and build many more drones by threatening him.
  • He has his drone break into a building to get the H.T.U.V. agent database which he gets after ambushing Walter by sticking his cybernetic hand out for him to hit it and fall to the floor, allowing Killian to put his foot on him and grab it.
  • He escapes the scene by summoning a drone to take him away while using a holographic disguise as Lance still.
  • He sets up a trap for Lance Sterling where once he breaks into the weapon facility he took over and enters the room he was in, he puts in the database to activate the drones in the room before having one knock him unconscious by electrocuting him and capturing him.
  • He is established to care for the men that were with him during the Kyrgyzstan attack and died due to Lance Sterling killing them to foil their attempt at harming innocent civilians, his whole motive in the film being to avenge their deaths.
  • He nearly succeeds in his plan to kill everyone at the H.T.U.V. agency and almost manages to escape had it not been for Walter hanging on and deactivating his drone while setting up an inflatable hug machine on him to save him from falling while flying into the air with a drone to try to prevent him from hacking in.
  • He accepted defeat as when he was saved by Walter despite his crimes, His robotic eye turned blue and his face softened a bit, showing that he has a sense of honor, implying he may have felt remorse for what he did or felt grateful to Walter for saving him.

What Makes Him A Baddie?[]

  • After Lance Sterling confronted him, he promises to show him pain he can't imagine before having a mob that came in try to kill him while he makes his getaway.
  • After buying a weaponized drone from Kimura, he has the drone kill off a guard while technologically disguised as Lance Sterling to frame him in the process.
  • He has his drone take out the guards of a covert weapons facility he was invading.
  • He forced a scientist to get the facility running at full capacity and build more drones while holding him hostage and promising to let him go. When the scientist is finished, however, after he tells him of the destruction this is capable of and rhetorically asking him when his agency cares about the many lives it destroys, he has a drone kill him by dropping him to his death, fulfilling his word of letting him go in a twisted way.
  • After getting the H.T.U.V. database by getting Walter knocked to the floor when he, Sterling (in pigeon form), and some other pigeons take it from his drone, when learning from Walter's words that Lance Sterling was around, he tried to goad him into coming out by threatening Walter's life and when he didn't, he tried to kill him only for Walter to cause the pigeons around them to distract them while escaping with Lance.
  • When alerted of Walter approaching the base in a submarine due to him tracking him, knowing how close he is to Lance and as revenge towards him for killing people he cared about, he forced Lance to watch as he sent two drones to try to kill him in the submarine, with him initially seeming to have done so before he walks away, though Walter survives.
  • He sends his drones to massacre everyone in the H.T.U.V. agency to avenge the deaths of the men he was with with them being responsible for them.
  • When Marcy and some of the other agents arrive to help Lance and Walter on the facility Killian was on, he has his drones try to kill them
