Dr. Logan Nelson is the main protagonist of the 2017 horror film and the eight instalment of the Saw franchise Jigsaw.
He is the Jigsaw Killer's accomplice who doesn't only create death traps for his victims, but also takes up the mantle after John Kramer died. He was revealed to be one of Jigsaw's victims namely due to him being responsible for mislabelling John Kramer's x-rays, however after John Kramer changed his mind, he saved Logan Nelson from getting killed by the bucket traps.
He is portrayed by Matt Passmore.
What makes him magnificent?[]
- Before he became an accomplice of John Kramer, he suffered a tragic backstory and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as he was tortured by Taliban while being the medic of the United States government.
- He upholds care for both his wife Christine Nelson and daughter Melissa Nelson, which shows how protective he is to his family.
- After becoming an accomplice of John Kramer the Jigsaw killer, he is seen to have high intelligence as he has knowledge of creating brilliant death traps for his victims.
- He designed the reverse bear trap which was for Amanda Young.
- He redesigned the bucket trap which was for Carly, Mitch's look-a-likes and Malcolm Neale.
- He redesigned chain hangers which was Mitch's and Carly's look-a-likes.
- He designed the cycle trap which was for Mitch and his look-a-like.
- He designed laser collars which was for Brad Halloran.
- He takes revenge on Edgar Munsen, who murdered his wife Christine, by sniping him from a distance during a police standoff and making it seem that the police shot him. When Edgar survives Logan sneaks into his guarded hospital room and kidnaps him before finishing him off and using his corpse to throw the police off his trail.
- During the laser collars scene, he is seen to have manipulative moments as he lured Detective Brad Halloran to the pig farm game and tricked him into admitting that he murdered innocent people.
- He ultimately succeeds in his plan to frame Halloran for the new Jigsaw killings by planting evidence in the latter's home for the police to find and using Eleanor as his alibi. In the end, he kills Halloran to avenge his wife's death and escapes scot-free.
What makes him a baddie?[]
- Despite upholding care for his wife, Logan Nelson assaulted his wife's physician which leads him into getting arrested after lashing out at a neighbor with yard sign.
- He designed the reverse beartrap, which is an especially cruel trap that rips its victims' jaws apart, to punish Amanda Young for doing drugs.
- After killing Detective Brad Halloran, he incriminated him just so he can take the fall for all of the murders.
