Magnificent Baddie Wiki

Lord Hater is the main protagonist of the Hatemation cartoon Lord Hater: The Greatest in the Galaxy, a cartoon made by the real Lord Hater's watchdogs within the show Wander Over Yonder. Like the actual Lord Hater, he seeks to conquer the galaxy though he is far more competent, actually managing to even succeed in defeating and heavily implicitly destroying his nemesis Wander.

He was voiced by Jon Hamm, who also voiced Herb Overkill in Minions, and Don Grouper in SpongeBob SquarePants.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He is conveyed to be far more competent and badass than his OG counterpart, having conquered all that he sees while cruising throughout the galaxy on his ship, defeating many of his enemies easily, opening secret doors, gliding past dinosaurs, etc., even managing to cause a princess to fall in love with him and being known as the greatest in the galaxy as shown in the intro of the cartoon.
  • He manages to locate the All Powerful Staff of Power which he plans to make him a lot more powerful than he is now by granting him more power than he already has to be able to conquer the universe.
  • He defeats his rival Emperor Awesome through having his strong watchdogs beat Awesome's fist henchmen before engaging in a battle against Awesome himself which, while offscreen due to the Watchdogs creating the show having blown the budget on the fight between the henchmen, is conveyed to be an impressive fight by the cartoon's narrative with Hater winning and getting the Staff of Power successfully.
  • He engages in a battle against Wander in his superhero form which, while shown off due to the cheap animation as the two clashing battlesticks, is portrayed as an epic battle within the narrative of the cartoon, ending with Hater reigning victorious with Wander at his mercy.
  • He tricks Wander into thinking that he was touched by his words, redeems himself, and befriends him, proceeding to do all sorts of fun activities afterwards before revealing that it was all a ruse so that he could crush his spirit before winning and almost destroying him. Despite Wander's appearance, he isn't really conveyed to be particularly stupid in the cartoon and the whole ordeal is portrayed as a genuine twist, allowing this to boost Hater's magnificence.
  • To boost his likability, he is a hammy parody of Skeletor due to his handsome skeleton face and even doing the same laugh.

What Makes Him A Baddie?[]

  • He has conquered all he sees throughout the galaxy and beat up many of his opponents along the way.
  • He plans to conquer the entire galaxy using the all-powerful Staff of Power.
  • He engages in battle against Wander to destroy him for interfering with his plans before tricking him into thinking he has reformed and befriended him and then later revealing it was a trick to crush his spirit before proceeding to destroy him.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only character from Wander Over Yonder to qualify as a Magnificent Baddie
    • Ironically, in spite of this, he's not even an actual character in the real universe of the show itself.
  • Only the cartoon version of Lord Hater qualifies as a Magnificent Baddie as his real counterpart, despite meeting the marks in the series finale at first, where he becomes an extremely competent planner who was ultimately able to defeat Dominator using his raw electric powers, still reverts to his old self at the end of that episode. Additionally, this was framed as Lord Hater only gaining the marks of an MB when the situation is extremely serious, as otherwise, he is far from qualifying.
