General Rules

  1. Vandalism: Defacing pages, removing content from pages with no sufficient reason, adding gibberish or inappropriate material on the wiki will be handled with a block.
  2. Trolls: Trolls will not be tolerated whatsoever. Any user who is seen trolling will immediately face a three day ban, no exceptions. If a user is seen consistently trolling, they will face progressively more lengthy bans.
  3. Harassment/Cyberbullying: Harassment and cyberbullying is completely unacceptable. Any users seen hurting others will face a block.
  4. Do Not Feed the Trolls: If you see a troll, simply report them and leave them be, as the admins will take care of them. Trolls often desire attention, so giving them more attention and fighting with them will only worsen their behaviour.
  5. Edit Spamming: Creating trivial or pointless edits (i.e. needless capitalization on headings or links, adding categories one at a time) just to amass more edits is frowned upon. Now, users who create productive edits and just so happen to do so over several edits will not be punished. However, users who simply create edits without adding anything significant just to get more edits will first face a warning, then a one day block, and progressively longer blocks afterwards.
  6. Edit-Warring: Fghting over edits is not productive in the slightest. Users caught will be warned and consequently banned.
  7. Sockpuppeting/Ban Evasion: Creating sockpuppet accounts to evade bans or rig votes is not tolerated. The original account will face a lengthy block, while all sockpuppets will be permanently banned.

Content Rules

  1. Sufficient Content: When adding pages onto the wiki, be sure to provide sufficient information on the page. Adding one-line sentences, articles with too-little information, and creating blank pages may be marked with the insufficient content template. These articles may also be deleted on sight. Also, continuously adding pages this way with no attempt to expand afterwards will be handled with a block. In addition to meeting the sufficient content for pages, please read the Page Layout Guide on how to structure articles on the wiki.
  2. Grammar: Remember that articles are meant to be read by people so try making them clear, concise and readable. Few people will frown upon one typing error or two but having hardly readable messes instead of articles is not very enjoyable for anyone.
  3. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is condemned and makes the wiki look bad, so please only add information that is in your own words. Users will initially face a warning, and then consequent bans if they plagiarize.
  4. Offensive Language and Content: Use of profane language in arguments will not be accepted, and users will be punished. As for articles, try to keep offensive language and content to a minimum, if at all (even for articles marked as Mature).
  5. New Categories: Only add categories here that are currently missing and that are on the Villains Wiki. Blacklisted categories are listed on the criteria for Magnificent Baddies. Any new categories created without the permission of an admin will be deleted on site. Also, franchise categories will only be allowed if there are at least five Magnificent Baddies that belong there.
  6. Navbox Templates: Navboxes are only allowed if there are at least three Magnificent Baddies that belong there.
  7. Do Not Recreate Deleted Pages: Pages that are deleted cannot be recreated without admin permission. If a page is recreated without admin's permission it will be deleted. Continuously recreating pages without admin permission may result in a block. A page may be recreated by reaching out to an admin with a valid reason for making the page and with their permission the page may be recreated.

Proposal Rules

  1. General: To determine if a villain qualifies as a Magnificent Baddie, a proposal would have to be made in a blog post. When a proposal is up, there will be four days for candidate to be voted on. If the proposal gets at least six 'yes' or 'no' votes within one week, then the proposal will be locked and the page will be approved or rejected. If a proposal/removal receives at least a net vote total of nine upvotes or downvotes within one week, it can be closed early. If there is a tie-breaker or has received an insufficient amount of votes, then the proposal will be extended for an additional one week to get a proper consensus. If the proposal only got one vote that is not undecided after going past the one week extension it can be either be approved or rejected. If the page is approved, then it can stay on the wiki. If it is rejected, then the page will be deleted and added onto the List of Disallowed Pages.
    • Please note that villains approved as a Magnificent Baddie on the Villains Fanon Wiki can automatically be added here.
  2. Content: Proposals need to be properly structured as outlined in the tutorial, have sufficient and accurate content (no fan speculation), and be based on the Magnificent Baddie criteria; there is no tolerance for purposely inserting false information or omitting important information just to get a candidate approved or removed. Users who make proposals that are sloppy, inaccurate, or otherwise not adherent to these guidelines will face consequences. Users will have one week to rewrite first offence proposals before they get deleted, and three days for second offence proposals. Since users are unable to edit their posts 24 hours after they have been created, they can contact an admin and tell them what they wanted added, removed, or changed in the proposal. Afterwards, if a user still creates proposals that violate the criteria, the proposals will be deleted and the user will face increasingly lengthy blocks for each nonconforming proposal.
  3. Proposal Needed Template: If a page is added with a proposal needed template, then a proposal will need to be made within two weeks of the template being added onto a page. If a proposal has not been made within the two weeks, the page may be deleted. When the template is added by an admin, it cannot be removed until a proposal is made and it has been approved. Removal of the template, may result in a block.
  4. Reason for Votes: When voting, please provide a reason for why the character may or may not count. The reason must be based on the Magnificent Baddie criteria. Failure to provide any reason or an adequate reason may result in the vote being counted as invalid.
  5. Proposal Limit: At any moment a maximum of ten proposals and removals are allowed to be active. If there are more than ten, the proposal will be put on hold until more space is cleared up.
  6. Number of Proposals per Week: Given the number of proposals at a time, each user is allowed to create a maximum of two proposals per week. If there are more than two proposals made by a user within the week, the proposal will be placed on hold and will reopen for votes next week.
  7. Discussing Previous Candidates: If you want to repropose a rejected candidate or remove an already approved character, because of either new content or aspects of the character's qualification that were not brought up in the original discussion, you must receive explicit admin approval beforehand, and in your proposal/removal you must state who you got permission from to propose/remove this candidate.
  8. Removals for Villains Not On the Wiki: If you want to create a removal for a villain who has not been approved yet on the wiki, you must receive explicit admin approval beforehand. Ideally these removals should be reserved for villains who have mitigating factors that may serve as points of contention, so these villains can be properly evaluated to see if they truly fit the criteria or not. If you want to simply have a villain added to the List of Disallowed Pages, please use the talk page instead.
  9. We Are Not TV Tropes: Though the Magnificent Baddie criteria is based off of TV Tropes' Magnificent Bastard criteria, we follow a different standard from them. Though a candidate that is approved as a Magnificent Bastard may very likely qualify here too, it is not a guarantee. Even if a character is already approved on TV Tropes, they will still require a proposal here.
  10. Two Week Rule: You have to wait at least two weeks to propose a character from a newly-released work.
