Mammoth Mogul is one of the overarching antagonists of the Sonic Archie Comics. He is a mammoth given immortality and magic powers by the Chaos emeralds who attempt to use its power for conquest. Later when deciding he can’t beat Sonic while he is alive, he decides to become a “legitimate” businessman and buy his time while Sonic die of old age while helping cause chaos behind the scenes.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He is an extremely powerful sorcerer who began the use of Chaos Magic and is the undisputed master of it as he founded the Order of Ixis teaching his magic to others.
- He is incredibly patient and cunning as he is willing to wait hundreds of years for a proper opportunity to take over the world when things aren’t going his way.
- He is genuinely affable to his allies and enemies always making sure to talk in a calm and professional tone. He even can show respect for powerful individuals like Sonic and Tails even telling Tails’s father that he should be proud of his son.
- He can plan long term and take note of things he could use far into the future, like the Chaos syphon and placing hypnotic suggestions in Tails, Mighty, and Mina to use them as pawns when he needed them.
- He was charismatic enough to convince Simon Simian and Predator Hawk to swear loyalty to them by appealing to Simon’s desire to become stronger and Hawk’s need to find a proper purpose.
- After he and his Fearsome Four were defeated by the Chaotix he decided then instead of trying to fight them directly again he would use his illusion powers to trick the Freedom Fighters into defeating the Chaotix for him.
- He tricked the Freedom Fighters into thinking he had died in an explosion and that they had reobtained the Sword of Acorns when in actuality, he had replaced it with a fake and possessed the real sword.
- He freed Enerjak, Dimtri so that he could steal his power to become Master Mogul and take over the world
- He kidnapped Turbo Tails and replaced him with a duplicate so he could use his power to restore his own. He also stole Chaos Knuckles power by taking Dimitri off life support to enrage him so he could use the Chaos Syphon on him.
- He used the imbalance in the Chaos Force to become an all powerful god.
- He defeated another powerful sorcerer Ixis Naugus which forced him to swear loyalty to Mogul.
- He used the hypnotic suggestions he put on Mina, Mighty, and Tails to force them into suicidal situations, which he used to force Sonic into freeing him from Prison and restoring his power.
- Mogul decides that he can not beat Sonic due to him having lost twice despite becoming a god and decides to simply play the long game and wait for Sonic to die of old age and then conquer the world. For the time being, he runs a casino as a businessman, taking a more subtle approach to crimes.
- He hires assassins to steal Sonic’s shoes and trick Somic into accusing him of making him look like a fool as part of his long-term plan to hurt Sonic’s reputation while restoring his own.
- He decides to let Geoffrey resort more Naugus and he realizes he will benefit from the chaos of his return.
- In the future, he would redeem himself feeling remorse for letting the world be destroyed so he raises and trains Silver the Hedgehog to save the world in his place, teaching him chaos magic and time travel.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He has attempted to take over the world multiple times, one of which resulted in him destroying millions of realties to remake the world in his own image.
