Mother Talzin is a supporting antagonist in the 2008 animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. She is the leader of the Nightsisters and mother of Darth Maul and Savage Opress.
She was voiced by Barbara Goodson.
What Makes Her Magnificent?[]
- She is a tragic villain whose primary motivation is vengeance against Darth Sidious for abducting her son Maul and Count Dooku for betraying Asajj Ventress.
- She is a powerful user of dark magic and capable of resurrecting herself and others, divination, creating a protection bubble, and dissolving her physical form into green mist (which allows her to escape situations that could have killed her) among other abilities. She even crafted her own crystal ball and distinct sword that could withstand lightsabers.
- She dispatches Ventress and her clan's two strongest warriors to Serenno to assassinate Dooku, conjuring magic that makes them invisible and arming them with a poison dart that blinds its victims and Jedi lightsabers so that Dooku would never find out they were behind the attack. When Dooku defeats them, he starts wishing for a new apprentice as Talzin had predicted, allowing Talzin and Ventress to send him Savage Opress who is intended to betray and kill Dooku when the time comes.
- After Savage betrays both Dooku and Ventress, she helps him locate Maul.
- She obtained a lock of Dooku's hair from a previous meeting with him and uses it to create a voodoo doll with the power to kill Dooku, even from another planet.
- She bravely defends her clan when General Grievous and his Separatist droid army invade Dathomir to wipe out the Nightsisters on Dooku's orders, and almost kills Dooku via voodoo torture during battle before being forced to flee. She is also one of the few Nightsisters to survive the massacre.
- She magically restores Maul's sanity and memories and provides him with a new pair of cybernetic legs.
- She holds her own in a duel with Mace Windu and survives, although losing her physical form.
- She aids Maul in reassembling the Shadow Collective as part of their final plan for revenge against Sidious.
- She possesses Dooku and proves a challenge even for Sidious to defeat her.
- She sacrifices her life to let Maul escape, letting herself be killed by Grievous.
What Makes Her a Baddie?[]
- She uses dark magic and manipulates others to gain power and further her goals.
- She brainwashes her son Savage into a living weapon and has him kill Feral (another one of her own sons) as a test of loyalty to the Nightsisters.
- She can be quite sadistic, as she tortured Dooku to give him a slow, excruciating death rather than quickly killing him (although he arguably deserved it).
- She arranged the kidnapping of Queen Julia and attempted to drain her life force to become more powerful.

- She and Asajj Ventress are the only Nightsisters to be Magnificent Baddies.
