“ | Too late. Heroes, man. Think they can mess around, maybe take care of some sidequests, roll in here at the last second like it's all cool... This ain't new. Know something, Cucumber? You were right. I am sick of the same thing. That's why this time, there's gonna be some changes. | „ |
~ Noisemaster after his Noiseblaster reaches 100%. |
Noisemaster is a major antagonist of the webcomic Cucumber Quest, serving as the main antagonist of Chapter 2: Makin' Some Noise. He was one of the Disaster Masters, and he planned to blast Trebleopolis with his Noiseblaster, to kill all of the inhabitants.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- His personality is incredibly likable. He's constantly played for comedy, but without detracting from his intelligence. Essentially, he's just fun to watch, especially with his rather unique way of speaking.
- He seems to feign a lot of his whole being annoying and stupid thing. Once he's away from any prying eyes, his demeanor shifts, and he seems to talk far more normally and intelligently, showing his secret, more competent side.
- When Piano stops screaming, keeping his Noiseblaster stuck at 99%, he simply waits for the main characters to arrive, knowing when they inevitably fight him, Piano would likely end up getting startled.
- When Cucumber shows up and tries to get him to give up his plan, he rejects it, yet lets him hang out with him for a bit because he "likes his style".
- He has a cute brotherly relationship with Mutemaster, giving him a hug and talking about how close they are. Even Carrot states that it is "touching".
- Lies to the group while their guard is down while they "hang out" with him, stating that Mutemaster is knocked out by loud noises, when it actually enrages him and causes him to attack, deliberately leading them into trying to use that and getting attacked. Almond uses it, and Noisemaster proceeds to mock her, giving what can be assumed to be a smirk.
- Has Mutemaster freeze everyone but Nautilus and Piano with his powers, and then blasts Nautilus, knowing it would get Piano to shriek in fear and concern, giving his Noiseblaster the final push it needs to fire.
- Once his Noiseblaster reaches 100%, he explains to Cucumber how heroes have done it before, constantly doing "sidequests" of sort and then only stopping his laser later, and then prepares to finally win for the first time in one hundred cycles.
- Ultimately, his loss only occurs because Nightmare Knight betrayed him and created a shield around Trebleopolis. Had he not, the city would've been burnt to ash.
- His defeat is played for sympathy, though not too much to make it pathetic. He sadly turns around and turns back into his Disaster Stone form, accepting his defeat with grace, stating they "beat [him], straight up". Mutemaster quickly joins him.
- Every other Disaster Master only is able to be a threat because their abilities are just that strong, but Noisemaster simply relies on his own cunning, and he gets the closest to success out of all of them.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- His end goal is to blow up Trebleopolis, a city full of people who haven't really wronged him in any particular way.
- He kidnapped Piano, and while necessary for his plans, and he doesn't force her to scream or anything, he doesn't really keep her in the best of conditions, as she complains about it being "cold here" when Noisemaster shows her on camera.
Trivia[]
- Undertale creator Toby Fox composed a theme for him, and then later slightly changed it and re-used it for fellow MB Mettaton later.
