Robert "Bob" Aken, better known as Obake, is the main antagonist of the Disney XD animated series Big Hero 6: The Series.
He was voiced by Andrew Scott.
What makes him magnificent?[]
- The performance by Andrew Scott made the character much appealing and enjoyable, thus, he's also a very cool villain. His design and intimidation also helped, and also easier to root for unlike Diane Amara with her unneeded rap sheet.
- While his tragedy does not excuse his actions, it is not a petty one, due to it having some bits of sympathy for his harm, even if it was his own cause.
- Is high in intellect, and throughout the series, he always portrayed himself with success at the end of every episodes in Season 1, including:
- Managed to figure out who are the Big Hero 6, and recreating the project that can destroy San Fransokyo.
- Disguised himself as Herman Ekabo to steal the blueprint of the project from Honey Lemon.
- Created Trina to lure Hiro closer to his plans, wanting to subject the hero to his ideal.
- Successfully brainwashed Baymax to capture Hiro and used him to entertain him.
- While he may get annoyed by some of his allies including Gobby, he never lose composure and always speak in a very calm demeanor. He remains collected to them, and never was a bad boss to his crew, even if it was pragmatic.
- His goal of destroying San Fransokyo, while heinous, is all sided with extremism, wanting to remake it into a better place.
- In his defeat, he showed remorse for his crimes, allowing Baymax to leave, and accepted his defeat in dignity. Even if his crimes are bad, Hiro and Baymax still sought to find him.
What makes him a baddie?[]
- Being the main antagonist of Season 1, he is responsible for many actions that almost every other villains did, including:
- Reprogrammed Noodle Burger Boy to make him following his orders, alongside creating his successor, Trina, to carry his legacy.
- Trapped the Big Hero 6 and puzzled them with deadly traps.
- Made Go Go, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, and Fred face their worst fears while taunting Hiro with his dead brother Tadashi's hallucinations.
- Attempted to rebuild San Fransokyo by destroying it and its inhabitants.
