The Old Man is a major antagonist/boss in the Newgrounds internet fangame Abobo's Big Adventure, serving as the main antagonist of the stage "Zeldabobo".
He is an elderly magician, ruling over his dungeon and being a lieutenant in Little Mac's gang.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He controls over the dungeon and serves as the leader of there, having numerous monstrous minions, including powerful ones such as Dig Dug, Manhandla and Aquamentus.
- He sets up an elaborate dungeon filled with numerous puzzles and monsters -including stronger ones such as Dig Dug, Manhandla and Aquamentus- whom Abobo should get rid of to reach Old Man's room.
- Despite being an elderly man -as his name clearly shows-, Old Man is proven to be one of the most challenging foes to Abobo. His knowledge of fighting skills are in a wide range scale that made him maintain himself against Abobo for three phases, the case that the other bosses couldn't have done.
- Upon the arrival of Abobo and beginning of fight, Old Man fools him by protecting himself with four magical shielding globes that beam Old Man and block Abobo's attacks towards him.
- With a summoning book he possesses, he summons various minions Abobo has fought previous, such as Skeletons, Ghosts, Shy Guys, and Bob-ombs. Summoning Bob-ombs is individually effective against Abobo, as if he stabs them closely, Bob-omb will explode and harm him.
- With his magical ring, candle and wand, he projects fireballs, laser beams and yellow homing projectile respectively. The latter one makes Abobo turn into a snail upon contact, and effectively slows him, making more prone to get damaged.
- Upon taking enough damage, he fools Abobo once more by splitting himself into three more Old Men, who have a spin attack which they use via sword.
- Upon his clones getting destroyed, he drinks a potion that transforms him into the Old Giant. As the Old Giant, he possesses superhuman brute strength, having attacks which causes energy blasts to break out and rocks to fall down on flashing red and white X's. He also possesses invincibility during his attack start ups.
- Despite coming from a comedic work, Old Man is completely taken seriously with zero comedic moments, being the sole character who lack even slightest comedic qualities (except his death scene which has a very brief moment of comedy) that would detract from his seriousness.
- Despite having no spoken lines like Little Mac or Amazon, Old Man is shown no sadistic nor berserker like most of the other villains, possessing a manipulative, shrewd and strategic intelligence instead.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He is one of the major members of Little Mac's gang, acting as a lieutenant for him. For that matter, Old Man helps Mac upon his evil deeds to be unstoppable, and attempts to kill Abobo to prevent him from saving his son, Aboboy.
- It is shown after his death that Old Man has kidnapped Princess Zelda and held her hostage at his dungeon for unknown reasons.
