NOTE: This article is only about the Pied Piper in the alternate timeline created by Rumpelstiltskin. |
The Pied Piper is a supporting antagonist of DreamWorks' 20th full-length animated feature film Shrek Forever After.
He's a cunning bounty hunter hired by Rumpelstiltskin to capture all the rebel ogres.
While never speaking, he was voiced by the late flutist Jeremy Steig.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- In the prequel comic, after having his flute stolen by the Rat King, he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to obtain a new and more powerful flute, which he uses to overthrow the Rat King and take over his kingdom.
- When some witches laugh at him after Rumpelstiltskin decides to hire him to capture the rebel ogres, he forces them to breakdance to prove his powers.
- He lures the ogres into staging an ambush at Rumpelstiltskin's carriage, disguising himself as Fifi (Rumpelstiltskin's pet goose) to then force them all to dance to "Shake Your Groove Thing".
- While he ultimately fails to capture Shrek and Fiona, it's not really his fault since his flute is made so that it can only control one kind of creature at time, and he didn't know that Donkey and Puss in Boots were there. On top of that, he still succeeded in capturing all the other ogres.
- While never speaking, he's pretty charismatic since he forces people to dance to humiliate them, making him a rather entertaining and memorable villain.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He assists Rumpelstiltskin in capturing the ogres.
- Forces the ogres to dance against their will.
Trivia[]
- He's the only version of the Pied Piper to be a Magnificent Baddie.
- He's also the only Magnificent Baddie in the Shrek films with Shrek in it.
