Strike me again, and I will bury that rod in your spark.
~ Predaking transforming for the first time and revealing himself to Starscream
I am not your boss. I am your KING!
~ Predaking asserting dominance over Skylynx and Darksteel

Predaking is a major antagonist in the third season of the 2010 animated series, Transformers: Prime. The first Predacon cloned on Shockwave's laboratory, Predaking swore loyalty to Megatron for his efforts in reviving his kind. Appearing initially as a mindless beast, as the season progresses, it is slowly revealed he is way smarter than he appears.

He was voiced by Peter Mensah.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • Contrasting his beastly introduction, in truth Predaking when the true depth of sapience is revealed is highly intelligent and eloquent in truth.
  • While loyal to the Decepticons and willing to help them in their destructive conquests, it is out of gratitude for creating him and making efforts to revive his kind, and the moment he realizes the Decepticons betrayed him and organized the extinction of his kind.
  • Even when it was assumed he was just a feral dragon, he was a persistent hunter for the Autobots, tracking them down and the Autobots leave with only inches of their lives. No matter their attempts to stop him, he will always find a way to persist, such as thawing himself out when frozen in the Arctic.
  • When Wheeljack attempts to toss a grenade to his mouth, Predaking uses his tail to turn Wheeljack's tactic against him by flicking the grenade using his tail, causing all the Wreckers to be buried under rubble.
  • Destroys a computer on the Decepticon warship to observe and learn Starscream's override code so he can use it to hack into the Decepticons' computer systems and learn about his origins and the Predacon race in secret.
  • Even when on his weaker form as a robot, Predaking is still an absolute beast in battle, crushing the hand of the Autobot second-in-command, Ultra Magnus, breaking the Forge of Solus Prime with his barehands, and nearly kill Optimus and even Megatron himself in fair combat.
  • While initially duped into believing the Autobots were the sole people responsible for the extinction of his kind, he was still willing to listen to Ratchet and then put the pieces together to realize the Autobots were tricked to doing so by Megatron. In response, he crushes his way through waves of Vehicon troopers attacking him, and then effortlessly defeat Megatron and use a Vehicon's body to whack him and seconds away from tearing him apart. The only reason Megatron could only be able to defeat Predaking is because Starscream shot him at the back, catching him offguard for Megatron to finally toss him out of an airlock.
  • Even when blasted of an airlock to his seeming death, Predaking still holds onto the Nemesis to survive and then use it to hitch a ride and claim domain in the newly restored Cybertron.
  • Upon learning about the existence of 2 newly cloned Predacons, Darksteel and Skylynx, Predaking effortlessly enforces their domination over them so they can join his campaign against Unicron and free the Predacon remains from Unicron's campaign and respectfully lay them to rest.
  • Agrees to help the Autobots to defeat Unicron and prevent him from destroying Cybertron, in which his efforts on holding back Unicron's terrorcon hoarde is what buys Optimus Prime enough time to confront and finally seal Unicron.
  • Tracks down Starscream to Darkmouth to exact revenge for the abuse he inflicted on his fellow Predacons (also for further karma in his role on their kind's extinction, something Predaking didn't know). The only reason Starscream can even (presumably) kill him is due to finding weapons out of sheer luck when fleeing, screaming for his life.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • Repeatedly tries to hunt down and kill the Autobots and their allies.
  • Willing to support Megatron's attempts to cyberform Earth and Cybertron if it means reviving his kind, which will see all life on the former destroyed.
