President Alan Keane is the main antagonist of the The Amazing World of Gumball episode "The Vision." He is the evil alter-ego of the ordinarily heroic Alan Keane, who's goal is to eradicate sadness across the globe by imprisoning depressed individuals in "happy camps."

He was voiced by Alex Jordan.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • While he is comedic, being a campy parody of a dictator, he is mostly taken seriously in-universe. This is opposed to the real Alan, who is constantly played off as a joke.
  • He picks a disguise and voice that will allow him to be taken seriously as a leader yet still be friendly enough for people to like him. His voice is also very suave.
  • While monologuing, he effortlessly wins a game of chess like it's nothing.
  • He manipulates the students into believing that it was their idea to make him the School President.
  • He was smart enough to cast aside anyone who isn't useful to his plans.
  • He makes it seem like the school is going to tax the students grades so that he can swoop in and play the hero.
  • He uses his opponents' physical appearance to discredit them.
  • He in general manipulates everyone with a perfect plan that ensured his success.
  • While his plan to force everyone to be happy is cruel, it isn't enough to disallow him since we only briefly see the Happy Camps and never learn how bad they actually were.
  • It is made clear that he is an extremist, as he truly believes that sadness is a problem that needs to be corrected.
  • He never faces retributions and it's implied that he succeeded in conquering the world.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • His plan is to force the entire world to be happy against their will.
  • He used slander against his opponents.
  • He lied that the school was going to tax the student's grades.
  • As mentioned above, it is strongly implied that he's a Karma Houdini due to not receiving any sort of punishment for his actions.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only Magnificent Baddie in The Amazing World of Gumball.
  • While the real Alan Keane briefly takes on this persona at the end of the episode, that version does not count as a Magnificent Baddie, as while he did set his sights on a far larger scale, he failed to be aware of his surroundings, as he monologued about his plan within earshot distance of Gumball, who immediately came back and popped him dead to stop him from putting the plan in motion; Gumball even points out that Alan should've waited for him and Darwin to leave.
    • Furthermore, Alan didn't even realize how effective this plan could be until Gumball and Darwin (who are both far less intelligent than Alan) assure him of its brilliance.
