Professor Abullah: If on the freak chance that Gesicht should commit such an act... what would you think?
Dr. Hoffman: That is entirely impossible.
Abullah: A robot as high performing as Gesicht might even commit suicide...
Hoffman: Preposterous.
Abullah: Or perhaps, the authorities would erase his memories before he could.
~ Abullah tipping off Hoffman that Gesicht killed a human

Goji, disguised as Professor Abullah, is the main antagonist of the 2003 manga by Naoki Urasawa,Pluto, a reimagining of The Greatest Robot in the World arc of the Astroboy franchise. Originally the world's most advanced AI that was unable to function due to the flood of information, Goji was only able to awaken by reformating itself into a perfect copy of the late Professor Abullah and coming to believe he was the scientist, but was corrupted the hate against Thracia within his final moments, turning him into a manipulative and vengeful being out for revenge. He is also the creator of the titular Pluto, who he used as an assassin to eliminate the world's 7 most advanced robots.

He is voiced by Kazuhiro Yamaji in Japanese, who also voiced Kenny Ackerman in Attack on Titan, and Kamran Nikhad on the dub.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • Has a very tragic backstory. He was originally the AI Goji that was so advanced the flood of information that he received plunged him into a permanent coma, and that the only thing that can even awaken him was the hate Professor Abullah had felt against Thracia for the loss of his family and the decimation of his country as a result of the war they waged, remolding himself to be an exact copy of Abullah and be filled with vengeance. With what all he had to go through to even be able to function properly, it is very understandable how he ended up the way he was. And despite this, Abullah actually retains his calm composure and hold it together.
    • His breakdown near the end of the plot when Dr. Tenma tells him he isn't human is only the result of his systems shorting out, as believing he was human was the only way he avoid slipping into a coma due to being overloaded by his own vast pool of information. This therefore doesn't make his breakdown disqualifying, as it's not something he could control.
  • Like Dr. Roosevelt, he is always impeccable polite and cordial to ally and enemy alike, in which unlike with Roosevelt, this affableness is genuine. He is a genuinely pleasant man when "off the clock" in villainy, and can actually empathize with his enemies' struggles.
  • While it is implied Roosevelt backed up the scheme and even pulled some strings, how he did remains unspecified and Abullah is overall seems very much independent in the scheming department.
  • Is very heavily implied to be able to peer into deeply hidden and classified archives considering his knowledge on the fact that Gesicht had kill a human before.
  • Through his Goji persona, he breaks into and assassinates nearly every member of the Bora Investigation Squad who all had some knowledge on his Bora Project, to which he leaves no trace at all that completely baffles all the highly intelligent robots and humans investigating the crime scenes.
  • Using Pluto, he skillfully orchestrates the very extermination of nearly every one of the world's most advanced robots, all with impressive fighting skills and cunning.
  • Keeps himself out of suspicion for months on end, despite conversing with multiple highly-intelligent humans and robots.
  • Is a man of his word, when Gesicht strikes a deal with Abullah to spare Dr. Hoffman's by letting Pluto go, to which he keeps his end of the bargain and keeps him out of harm's way for now.
  • Is very good at reacting with setbacks. When Gesicht ends up discovering Pluto, he hacks into a flowerbot he met earlier in the day to lower his guard and fatally shoot him, and when Epilson survives his encounter with Pluto, he uses his adoptive son Wassily that was traumatized by the sight of Bora in war, as bait to lure Epilson to a second and more fatal confrontation. The former especially is impressive as up until then, Gesicht was the main character of the series.
  • Was seconds away from succeeding at his final goal, only being thwarted by Atom being able to redeem Pluto at the last second.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • Emotionally manipulates his son Pluto and corrupts his AI with his hatred to force him into being his killing machine against his will.
  • Has the world's 7 most advanced robots and the entire Bora Investigation Squad assassinated.
  • He frequently uses children as hostages and bait for his targets and even tries to beat one of them, Wassily, after the latter keeps shouting "Bora."
  • Attempts to detonate himself near a massive magma pocket underneath Thracia so as to cause an apocalyptic eruption that will wipe out most biological life on the planet to exact his vengeance upon the world.
