Sam is one of the main protagonists of The Sam and Max franchise, alongside Max.
He is a freelance police officer, who goes around in order to maintain peace in the city, even if his methods are questionable at times.
He was voiced by Bill Farmer.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He’s far more rational than his partner and best friend, Max, not being as impulsive or crazy as he has proven to be.
- He’s a very good source of comedic relief in a cold ham way, making him a very entertaining character.
- He regularly takes advantage of anything he can find in his surroundings to overcome his problems and opponents.
- He’s motivated by his desire to stop crime, even if it means he has to cause some himself.
- He’s, alongside Max, saved the world on various occasions from villains such as Hugh Bliss.
- Despite their occasional bickering, he does care about Max, and it’s clear this craing is mutual.
- He’s also shown to be clever, Tricking Ted e bear into thinking he was hypnotized, before hypnotizing him and making him believe he was on fire.
- Overall, Sam is always willing to save the day, with various tricks up his sleeve in order to overcome any obstacles that come in his or Max’s way.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- While wanting to stop crime, Sam is willing to cause various crimes of his own and endanger innocent people in order to achieve his goals, with examples such as:
- Manipulating his friend Sybil into believing the Abraham Lincoln Statue had asked her out on a date, in order to cause a public scene and ruin Lincoln’s chances at presidency.
- Causing the Soda Poppers to engage in a civil war in the Dakotas in order to gain access the war room in the white house.
- Having Timmy Two-Teeth be sent to hell, in order to further his goal of sabotaging Hell’s efficiency.
- He’s proven to be lethal, such as killing Hugh Bliss by frying them up, and tricking The Soda Poppers into sending themselves to an inescapable pit in hell.
- He can be mischievous, with acts such as prank calling Bosco and pretending to be “Them” being an example of this.
