Sasha Elizabeth Waybright is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Captain Grime) of the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. She's also a major character in tie-in book, Marcy's Journal: A Guide to Amphibia.
She's one of Anne Boonchuy's childhood friends back on Earth, who would often use her skills to manipulate her and Marcy Wu. When the three of them got transported to Amphibia, she was captured by Toad Army, but her skills impressed Captain Grime, and she ended up becoming his second-in-command, before the two of them attempted to take over the whole Amphibia, only to redeem themselves upon discovering threat of King Andrias. She's also the former first archenemy of Anne and respresent the Pink Gem of Strenght on Calamity Box.
She was voiced by Anna Akana.
What Makes Her Magnificent?[]
In General/Background[]
- Even in her most despicable moments, Sasha can't be hated, as she's being rooted against more cruel people, especially the likes of The Core and King Aldrich. Even redeemed villains like Grime or King Andrias have more cruel acts under their belts.
- Initially a toxic person, who would manipulate and abuse even her friends, Sasha managed to let go of her controlling behavior and openly said she's not that kind of person anymore.
- Back on Earth, she was already charismatic and manipulative, like tricking science teacher into letting her and Anne skip class to celebrate Anne's birthday.
Season 1[]
- Despite being imprisoned in the Toad Tower, she has no problem of using manipulations and being patient while waiting for her to escape instead of attempting to resist, such as when she convinced the toad soldiers to quit their jobs.
- Convinced Grime to be nice to his army before battling the Herons.
- Her charismatic and manipulative skills led Grime to offer her to become his second-in-command, which she accepts later on.
- Tricked Anne and the frogs into having a party with the toads before attempting to kill Hop Pop in front of them.
- By seeing Anne leaves her room to warn the frogs about her true deceptions, Sasha is the one who discovers what she's planning to do and then warns the Toad Army that Anne and the frogs are tried to escape Toad Tower, which she succeeds in preventing them from doing so.
- Attempts to manipulate Anne into surrendering herself by threatening to put the sword down, only for Sprig to stops her from doing it so.
- Used her dagger to knock the sword away from Anne's and then throw her cape on her face before tackling her.
Season 2[]
- While she was defeated by Anne at first, she improved her combat skills and helped Grime to defeat villains such as General Yunan.
- Smart enough to trick General Yunan into re-introducing herself so she could be pushed off of the cliff and fell into the waterfall.
- Manipulated Anne, Marcy and the Plantars into believing she has changed in order to take over Newtopia and the entire Amphibia alongside Grime.
- Unlike Anne and Marcy who blindly didn't realize Andrias' true nature, Sasha is the only one who fully discover who he actually is and refused to back down when Anne didn't believe every word she says.
Season 3[]
- Took her role as the leader of the Wartwood resistance, and even convinced the Wartwood civilians to side along them fighting against Andrias's robot army.
- As the leader of the resistance, she is very calculating with her moves. While there are slip-ups like Spring and Ivy did not follow the rules, she still forgives them.
- Helped Anne to save Marcy from the Core and alongside with them, she helped in defeating the Core's Moon form from clashing the planet.
What Makes Her a Baddie?[]
- She used to be a troublemaker back on Earth, while at same time being abusive and controlling towards Anne and Marcy.
- Rallied the Toad Army into overthrowing King Andrias to take over Newtopia and the rest of Amphibia. She also betrayed Anne and Marcy in favor of taking both over, which led her being indirectly responsible for most of the events that happened in "True Colors".
- Attempts to separate Anne from the Plantars by using the Calamity Box to send her back home out of spite for ending their friendship.
- Showed some lethalness by crushing a bug, attempting to kill Sprig despite being a child and violently attacking Darcy.
