Something the matter. Oh wait. It seems I "forgot" I'd compromised the chamber's seal when I broke out. There's no atmosphere in here either. It's difficult to mind jump when you're in a state of shock, isn't it?
~ Sinestro revealing he had played Neuroxsis and had no intent of leaving him alive even after he surrendered.

Sinestro is a one-shot character in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, serving as the titular anti-hero of episode 18, “Prisoner of Sinestro”.

He is the legendary maverick hero of the Green Lantern Corps, who reunites with his former pupil Hal Jordan and his crew to transport a prisoner to Oa yet contained a hidden sinister streak unbeknownst to all.

He is voiced by Ron Pearlman.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He is a master improviser famed for bending the rules to whatever was convenient to achieve his objectives.
  • He is a one-man army who single-handedly took down 10 platoons during the Battle of Kund.
  • He is given a darkly charismatic and witty performance by his voice actor.
  • He captured one of the most wanted criminals in the galaxy, Neuroxsis, aboard the Spider Guild ship, contacting the heroes while single-handedly holding them until Hal Jordan and his crew could arrive to pick him up.
  • After mysteriously attacking the heroes and being imprisoned yet having no recollection of what happened, he deduced that Neuroxsis was a psychic that could possess others, having previously caused the Spider Guild Captain to blow up his own ship, and formulated a ruthless plan to defeat him.
  • He broke out of his cell using a hidden pocket knife after deducing where the hidden air vent was.
  • He came up with a foolproof plan to figure out who Neuroxsis was possessing and eject him by depressurising the entire ship with the exception of Neuroxsis cell as the power rings would protect their hosts, but as Neuroxsis couldn’t access a lantern power ring as he wasn’t chosen, a flight suit wouldn’t emerge to protect him or his host, causing Neuroxsis to suffocate and forcibly go back to his own body in order to survive.
  • After the plan succeeded and Neuroxsis went back to his cell, Sinestro came up to the still suffocating Neuroxsis to reveal the truth: he has purposefully broken the cell’s airtight seal when he had previously broken out and his plan was an elaborate trick to set up Neuroxsis to unwittingly kill himself.
  • He escapes with all his actions, successfully convincing the heroes including his critic Kilowog that Neuroxsis’ death was an accident, with none the wiser as to his true actions.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • His plan to defeat Neuroxsis nearly suffocated his host, Razer, to death, something Sinestro was indifferent towards and showed no remorse for.
  • He set up Neuroxsis to die even after he had surrendered. Granted, while Neuroxsis was a criminal that was more dangerous than initially expected, it was still a coldly ruthless move to kill him and to top it off, taunting him as it happens.
