Slicer is a major antagonist in the 2021 IDW Comics series, Transformers: Shattered Glass, a reboot of the 2008 Pun Publications series of the same name. One of the first Wreckers personally handpicked by Optimus Prime for Ultra Magnus' task force, Slicer is one of his most efficient soldiers. A soldier of introspective nature, while he gets farther than other Autobots due to not letting his sadism and ego blind him to acquire the Titan Metroplex for Ultra Magnus, is slowly conflicted if he should remain loyal to the Autobot cause, slowly admiring the Decepticon side for their comradery.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • Unlike other Autobots, who no matter how brilliant, have their schemes blow up on their faces because of their sadism and/or ego, Slicer lacks all of that, being a consummate professional.
  • Unlike many of his Wrecker comrades, he is capable of an introspective side, reflecting on if being a Wrecker is the right path at all and how little they care for each other while slowly appreciating the Decepticon side after listening to Soundwave's radio. Inspired by that, he ends the comic planning to start a new life after helping Ratchet recuperate, even if not a full on redemption, is somewhere.
  • Infiltrates Goldbug's domain, the Gold City, to spy on him as a mole, leaking information to Ultra Magnus and using Goldbug to find and activate the Titan, Metroplex.
  • When the Decepticons take over Gold City and overthrows Goldbug, Slicer makes his escape, and even sneaks Ratchet out of the city.
  • Talks Rodimus out of executing Blaster for his failure to defend Gold City and use him to obtain key information from Soundwave's radio station and then destroy it, to which Blaster succeeds in the former, but due to his showboating, failed the latter.
  • Upon Blaster's execution, he repurposes Blaster's head to be a radio to spy on Decepticon communications, while disposing the bodies of him and his cassettes near Decepticon territory to transfer the heat of their deaths onto them.
  • By playing on Goldbug's ego, he wraps him around his finger to decimate the Decepticon Air Strike Patrol, which he knows thanks to Blaster's head, and knowing Goldbug knows he is a mole, riles him up in anger to distract him long enough for Jetfire to crush him to death, and then uses words and explosives to lower Jetfire's guards so that his Wreckers can capture him, successfully claiming Metroplex for Ultra Magnus.
  • When Soundwave saves him upon sensing his conflicting loyalty, while Slicer attempted to shoot him, he immediately reconsiders and shoots Springer, turning on the Wreckers and save Soundwave, because he knew unlike Soundwave, Springer would've killed him.
  • Telepathically guides Soundwave to escape the Wreckers and claim Starscream's spark, while will see Ultra Magnus' plans using Metroplex crumble, and then escape the Titan with Ratchet, but not before saving Soundwave's life from being killed by Magnus by shooting him.

What Makes Him a Baddie?[]

  • Was a willing participant for Ultra Magnus' jobs as the Wreckers, such as the attack on the Cybertronian Senate, and helping him acquire Metroplex to use against the Decepticons despite the calamitous dangers posed across Cybertron.
  • Has Blaster executed for his failure and then desecrates his head to form a radio station.
  • Kills many Decepticons, such as the Air Strike Patrol, throughout the series.
