“ | It really irks me when folks don't take responsibility for the little things. Don't get me wrong, I'm here to help. But every time I have to stop and sweat the small stuff, it potentially keeps me from attending to more urgent matters. Life-threatening matters. You may wanna think about that the next time you leave the screen door open. | „ |

~ The Clone's last words to the real Superman. |
The Superman Clone is the main antagonist in the second half DC Animation's first ever direct-to-DVD movie Superman: Doomsday. As the name implies, he is the evil clone of Superman created by Lex Luthor to attend his dirty work. Eventually, he breaks free of Luthor's control and becomes the vigilante wannabe protector of Metropolis.
He was voiced by Adam Baldwin.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He saves Lois Lane and a little girl from falling to their deaths, and then later avenges the 4-year-old Katie Albert by killing Toyman. Meanwhile, most of Metropolis still believes he's the real Man of Steel resurrected until Lois and Jimmy start investigating.
- He escapes Luthor's control by using his heat vision to dig out a Kryptonite killswitch implanted in his brain, after which he foils his former master's plan to take over the world before hospitalizing him.
- He puts up quite a fight against Superman and the military before dying. During the fight, he even gives Superman a chance to walk away unharmed since he can keep it up all day with only a drop of blood coming out of his mouth.
- He genuinely wants to protect Metropolis, and never does anything morally reprehensible (at least when compared to sadistic smug psychopaths like Lex and Toyman). His last words are even telling Superman to protect the people.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He makes subtle threats towards an old lady for letting her cat wander outside to get stuck in a tree, stating that he has more urgent life-threatening matters to attend to while telling to make sure this doesn't happen again.
- He also makes threats towards the cops, telling them to "watch the language" after blowing up the guns in their hands.
- He removes the Kryptonite capsule in his brain at a salon, in front of several women and making one faint, likely giving them trauma.
- He has no qualms killing military soldiers who stand in the way of his goals, and nearly does the same to the real Superman.
