Tarakudo is a major antagonist of Jackie Chan Adventures, serving as the main antagonist of the fourth season. He is a malevolent oni, an ogre-like demon of Japanese mythology, who seeks to rule over the world with his nine generals.
He was voiced by the late Miguel Ferrer.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He is a pretty strong and brave military commander who is not afraid of anything except a bow that can burn his eyes.
- He is very charismatic, and in his whole form he is strong enough to defeat Jackie Chan, Viper and El Toro Fuerte at the same time.
- He has a sense of humor, as evidenced by the funny jokes and witty banter that he lets go during the fight.
- He and his generals once managed to capture all of Japan until they were all imprisoned in masks.
- After Daolon Wong loses his powers and is arrested, along with the Enforcers and Hak Foo, he tries to summon Shadow Khan with improvised ingredients, but instead awakens Tarakudo, who then leads the Enforcers and Hak Foo out of prison to help him find the masks and plunge the world into darkness again.
- He is not unnecessarily cruel (although somewhat sadistic), does not have a tendency to take revenge and does not worry about ordinary defeats, preferring mainly to achieve the main goal.
- He treats each of his generals with the greatest respect and honors them when they successfully complete their tasks. Also, when General Ikazuki was caught on Finn from behind, he showed real compassion for the general.
- Unlike Shendu and Daolon Wong, he is a benevolent boss for the Enforcers, because he suffers their constant failures and offers to share his power. The worst thing he does with them is to throw Ratso and Chow into fake coffins. Even then, they weren't harmed in the slightest.
- He is polite to both his allies and enemies, referring to Jackie Chan as "Mr. Chan" (while most villains just call him "Chan").
- He eventually achieves his goal of plunging the whole world into darkness, and is defeated only after that, and when the heroes guessed his weakness.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He is ruthless and somewhat sadistic, because he was going to plunge the whole world into darkness.
- Although he is mostly friendly with them, he still punishes the Enforcers for failures, although not as cruelly as Shendu and Daolon Wong did (for example, by enclosing them in makeshift coffins or eating the shadow of a Chow).
- Demonstrates his hatred of good magic.
- Expects Jade to one day turn into an evil character and a formidable opponent. In fact, he once joked that Jade Oni's Halloween costume represented a "U-turn" from her decision to reunite with the forces of Darkness.
- Despite the fact that Jade has attracted his attention, he does not hesitate to put her in danger, because he believes that she will either survive or use all her potential value as a one-time ally or a source of leverage.
