“ | The Annihilator was born on Earth, and started exhibiting his mutant powers as a child. Everyone teased and tormented him for being a freak, so he withdrew from society. But he didn't become truly powerful until he was discovered and trained by the legendary Hapax the Elder, a human with a similar mutation, who wanted to groom him into being a great superhero, but The Annihilator decided to use his powers for evil, to make everyone suffer the way he suffered. Hapax was so upset about being betrayed that he went into self-imposed exile on Caldera. | „ |

Neil Gunzenhauser, or better known as The Annihilator, is the overall main antagonist of the Disney XD series Mighty Med. He is the overarching antagonist of the first season and one of the main antagonist in the first half of second season (the other being Mr. Terror) and a posthumous antagonist in the sequel show Lab Rats: Elite Force. After his death, Mr. Terror became the second main antagonist in the second season.
He is the supervillain who caused Skylar Storm to lose her powers. However, later upon their return, The Annihilator brainwashed Skylar, turning her evil. He is Skylar Storm longtime archenemy and Hapax the Elder's former pupil-turned-nemesis. Throughout the second season, he also battles Skylar Storm's friends Kaz and Oliver, who become his new archenemies.
His ultimate goal is to create an army to take over the world by turning all superheroes, including Skylar, into his evil servants. He used a device containing a serum that can contaminate superpowers and link them to his control. The first of his victims was Skylar Storm herself.
He was voiced by David Sobolov, who also voiced Grodd from the Arrowverse and Shockwave from Transformers: Prime, and was portrayed by Morgan Benoit.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He has a cool design and is given a very badass vocal performance by David Sobolov.
- Has the cool ability to absorb the powers of others and launch it back through his Power Cannon.
- He has some genuinely funny scenes despite being taken mostly seriously.
- Despite Kaz and Oliver getting away with Skylar’s powers, he always equips the trophies of the superpowers he steals with a tracking device. This is what allowed him to find the location of Mighty Med.
- During his battle with Skylar in the hospital he managed to tamper with her powers without her knowing. Thus, when she restored her powers, she was turned evil which allowed The Annihilator to escape from his handcuffs.
- Even though he brainwashed her and only for pragmatic reasons he surprisingly treats Skylar pretty well (barring one moment).
- After finding out that Kaz and Oliver planned to return the powers to the superheroes he stole from he has Skylar go sabotage the powers before Kaz and Oliver can get there, which would effectively create an evil army for him.
- When people start suspecting a mole at Mighty Med, he and Skylar come up with a plan to incriminate Oliver to throw them off Skylar’s scent.
- Knowing that Kaz and Oliver would attempt to enlist the help of Hapax the Elder, he and Skylar make their way there through Skylar’s space portal.
- Admits to Hapax the Elder that he could easily defeat him with the help of Skylar and his Power Cannon but decides that he would rather settle it "mano a mano".
- Manages to best Hapax the Elder in combat.
- Even though Skylar betrayed him and nearly killed him he managed to survive and shot her with Black Widower’s Poison. While he got killed for real after that by Hapax the Elder, the Black Widower's Poison that he shot managed to actually temporarily kill Skylar, with the only reason she survived being that Horace had the ability to bring her back to life, which was unknown before, meaning he temporarily had the last laugh against the person who betrayed him.
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He attempted to kill Oliver and Kaz multiple times.
- He turned multiple superheroes evil.
- He temporarily killed Skylar.
- Planned on destroying a city and ruling the world.
Trivia[]
- He, along with Bridget/Mr. Terror are so far the only Mighty Med villain characters to be a MB.
