The Ferryman is the main antagonist of the Little Nightmares comics and its radio series The Sound of Nightmares. He is a giant humanoid with sagging skin for a face. He travels throughout the lands, looking forward to bring children into the Nowhere, and eventually to the Maw.

What Makes Him Magnificent?

• Manipulated and tricked dozens of children into following him into the Nowhere, with it being a success nearly all the time.
• Tricked the Refugee Boy by taking the shape of his sister into making him think that she was safe while the North Wind had killed her long ago. I's implied it's one of his tactics to fool children.
• His job proved itself very successful, as no one came to stop him yet and he's still kidnapping children to this day.
• Holds some standards against villains like Otto who was considering sending children to the Nowhere.
• Seems to be more of a morally grey character simply serving his purpose in the Nowhere, which excuses his crimes a bit.
• While he's heinous for having sent countless children into fates worse than death, he is still far less heinous and hateable compared to far more loathesome characters like the Lady or the Pretender who massacred hundreds of them, with the Ferryman's villainy being indirect and while it's on children, it's the base of the series to hurt children.

What Makes Him a Baddie?

• He kidnapped and manipulated dozens of children into joining him into the Nowhere, making him indirectly responsible for the horrible fates that awaits them.
• He kidnapped Otto's sister Sissy, making him responsible for the latter's desperate fall into villainy.
• Unlike all other children, he took Six to the Maw by force, summoning a horde of guests to chase her down and eventually tying her up and taking her to his boat, although it's probably because he sensed that she was more powerful and dangerous than the others.

Trivia

• He and Six are the only characters from Little Nightmares to be MB.
