So it's about 2 weeks since Transformers One has been released. As I have told on VW, it is an awesome film that is an absolute recommend even if you aren't a fan of Transformers in general, managing to actually be funny in spite of the terrible jokes from the trailers (the marketing for the film gives a serious disservice to the film, legit the only reason the film could even have a chance to break even is only word of mouth at this point... great job Paramount), so wanna give some obligatory heads up as there is one candidate who I feel is worth some notice or discussion if he could worth a proposal.
Close Contenders[]
Megatron/D-16[]

Okay when it comes to Magnificent Baddies, Megatron is the closest any of the villains could even come close to counting. He's absolutely charismatic, rallies up a fervent army dedicated to serve him, is highly entertaining and intriguing to the audience and even with his overall motive for evil being anger, he actually doesn't devolve into any nasty Villainous Breakdown and is back to continue plotting. And unlike the other versions of Megatron who we got up as MB so far who are irredeemable villains devoid of positive traitors (or used to for most of their runtime on the case of Prime), this version has his past as a former slave explored to make him a much more sympathetic figure and be pitted against the much more deplorable and cruel Sentinel Prime.
He's someone that seems to have all the pieces for MB already... but I'm not making a formal proposal for him. Like Megatron is the weird case where he has the charisma... but unlike the other versions of Megatron where we see their plotting... by the time D-16 finally becomes Megatron... he never really has any moment to show his chops when it comes to brains, mostly relying on brute force and being an unstoppable force of rage. However, if the sequel does actually manage to come out (which is a big if because terrible marketing do be making film perform poorly at the box office) and they end up giving Megatron the cunning he is overall known for... I will certainly propose him there
Non-Contenders[]
- Sentinel Prime: While easily cunning and smart enough.... he's a mega-jerkass whose evil is just rubbed into the viewer's face, and a major Smug Snake who gloats about how he is above others and oppressing them to fund his own hedonistic lifestyle, but then when people finally manage to stand up to him, is revealed to be nothing more than a pathetic coward who dies pleading for his life from Megatron before he ultimately gets ripped in two.
- Airachnid: Okay, she isn't a mega-sadist like she was on Prime (shudders) but it is still perhaps her most notable trait. She is gleeful to go on butchering Transformers or handing them over to suffer horrific deaths or torture at Sentinel's hand or fighting and wounding people in general. And doesn't really have much for charm in general.
- Quintessons: Barely appear and the one scene they appear, they are more like shrieking monstrosities.
- Darkwing: Allow me.
