“ | Those people, Pete. The people up there. The rich and the powerful. They do whatever they want. Guys like us, like you and me, they don't care about us. We build their roads. We fight all their wars and everything. They don't care about us. We have to pick up after them. We have to eat their table scraps. That's how it is. | „ |

~ Toomes to Mac Gargan, keeping Spider-Man's secret. |
Adrian Toomes, also known as Vulture, is the main antagonist of the 2017 Marvel film Spider-Man: Homecoming. He was the CEO of Bestman Salvage until he was unintentionally driven out of business when Tony Stark and the U.S. Government founded the Department of Damage Control, so he used the remains of Chitauri and Ultron Sentinel technology to become a black-market weapons dealer and obtained a vulture-themed flying suit which he used to steal more dangerous technology to sell.
He's played by Michael Keaton, who also voiced Walter Nelson in Minions.
What Makes Him Magnificent?[]
- He's a lot more kind-hearted and caring than several other MCU villains, stealing money for his loved ones while also seeking payback against Tony Stark.
- He really cares for his wife Doris and daughter Liz.
- He's a pretty good boss for the most part treating his minions well.
- Before Spider-Man came along, he was able to keep his criminal activities totally secret for four whole years without getting any unwanted attention.
- He singlehandedly deduces that Peter and Spider-Man are the same person, and yet still gives him a chance to walk away if he just minds his own business, because he's grateful that he saved Liz's life.
- He has Herman Schultz, the new Shocker, wait outside the backdoor of Peter's school to fight him just in case he didn't agree to their deal, and then traps him under rubble when he discovers his hideout.
- He refuses to reveal Spider-Man's secret identity in prison, showing that he respects his enemy and doesn't hold petty grudges (unlike Quentin Beck unfortunately).
What Makes Him a Baddie?[]
- He sells Chitauri weapons that could be dangerous in the wrong hands.
- He kills the first Shocker, Jackson Brice, for threatening to expose him. While it was accidental and Brice maybe kind of deserved it, Toomes simply brushes it off as no big deal and makes Herman the new Shocker.
- He threatens to kill Peter and his loved ones if he intervenes in his affairs ever again. While the latter may have been a bluff, the former part definitely wasn't.
- After accidentally getting transported into Sony's Spider-Man Universe, he decides to make his team of supervillains, known later as Sinister Six (starting with Michael Morbius) to go on hunting for Spider-Man.
